Halle Bailey is not the right person for this role. All of your excuses are biased, ridiculous, and have nothing to do with the retelling of an established story with an established character. Also Grownish is a terrible show, and Ms. Bailey is not talented enough as an actress, nor is she an exceptional singer, due to lack of professional experience, to step into the Ariel role. Her supporters are hardly braintrusts themselves, and are just trying to stay on the left side of the business. Rob Marshall is just a Disney lacky and Mary Poppins Returns is not something to brag about on his resume. It has already been hinted that adjustments to the character and story will be made. This would seem only necessary to suit Socialist agendas and reach the left audience ($$$) while deluding real Little Mermaid fans into believing that Disney Magic is still intact. Become really woke and wake up to what a farce this Project is and what a bomb this film will be. Halle Bailey is Not My Ariel and Disney is Not My Disney anymore. Walt is spinning in his crypt.

Racist because they basically saying that little mermaid is white so that's wrong got be black because don't offend any blacks but it's ok often us whites by changing skin colour.

They didnt drive us apart with a subtle message that many people read as, This art is less because its creators are a part of it, or even worse, minorities cant do this on their own, so well make take care of the poor darlings but they better buy our tickets or else.

Im not against her as she have a really great voice. What I dont get with this is why make a live action movie out of an iconic disney classic cartoon and change its main characters appearance. Honestly the new picture of the mermaid does not look black enough for me. It looks more like an Indian than black. if they are going keep her black they should be authentic. the mermaid should have an afro not long flowing hair. majority of black people have afro. To everyone who says that the new Little Mermaid movie will be horrible and that the movie is black washing. Our society and world has had almost everything being white washed and there is barely any representation in the media, I dont think that this black washing will do any harm to your childhood. Doesn't matter if Halle Bailey is in the new film or not. I own a copy of the original classic in 3D and that's enough for me. I don't need to see a new version of the same, original story that I have seen. Save the money for something worthwhile. I'm getting sick of all the Disney live-action remakes, anyway!

No matter how much you tell me how talented and good she is, still cant accept her as ariel, sorry. She would be perfect for tiana and I would have reacted differently.

Those five reasons aren't enough for me to want to know who Halle Bailey is. The only reason for Disney Studios to cast her in a character role that Hans Christian Anderson created originally as a white, DANISH story character is to satisfy the racial barriers. Pure crap!

The story is about the red head Disney Ariel, not Andersen's The Little Mermaid. If it's not a direct remake live action of Ariel, then it's okay for the mermaid to be Black or Asian or Hispanic or Whatever. Probably it's gonna be the last live action remake of Disney.

So Halle is smaller, has more straight shaped eyebrows, n has a small mole above her brow. I'm sorry but I couldn't tell them apart for a while. n they aren't twins! On grownish they are twins so I just assumed they were in person also.
