Everyone has to start somewhere and these are all successful actors who started in soaps. Well be looking at ten A-list actors who once had significant roles in soap operas. For the purposes of this list, well only be including American soap operas, so actors like Chris Hemsworth, who starred in the Australian soap Home and Away, will not be included. MsMojo ranks the most successful actors who started in soaps. Are there any soap stars we missed?

Steven Webber (from the Sitcom Wings) was acting along side Julianne Moore in the last clip. And ALL the honorable mentions should have been in the main list. You could easily do MANY more lists like this one with how many people started off in soaps. Finally, I watched Jensen all the time when he was originally on Days. He was the main reason to click this Ms. Mojo list.

The only thing I would have to question you on is the amount of episodes you claimed Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robin Wright and Julianne Moore were on. From what I remember when I watched these shows were the amount of storylines they were involved in. But overall I enjoy your videos

I'm surprise that Richard Dean Anderson not on the list. before he became MacGyver and Jack O'Neill in the sci fi hit show Stargate SG1 he played doctor Geff Webb in General Hospital in the 70's.

Ugh British soaps are so much better than American soaps its a fact its a ritual for us to watch soaps in the UK so I think you should do a british soap version and you better include Ben Hardy

Some actors missing from this list: Alec Baldwin, John Stamos, Jonathan Jackson, Josh Duhamel, Anne Heche, Rue McClanahan, Nathan Fillion, Shemar Moore, Jesse McCartney, and David Hasselhoff.

I'm old enough to remember Demi Moore on General Hospital. That was back in the Luke & Laura days, as well as when Rick Springfield played Dr. Noah Drake. Damn, I feel old now.
reply

I disagree, Sarah is more known then Jensen. Buffy is a better show then Supernatural and Sarah works in more projects too. Plus she won an Emmy. She should be number 2.

Paul Walker on The Young and The Restless as Victorias pretend boyfriend when she was really dating an older guy didnt get even an honourable mention? shakes head

You couldn't include the Supernatural clip from The French Mistake where the Winchesters were cringing while watching a clip of Jensen Ackles on Days of Our Lives?
reply

Disappointed there were no Another World cast members mentioned. There are more from that soap who have made it big time than any other soap.
reply

You should do celebritys Who were on Australian soaps. Because so many Australian celebs have been on either neighbours or home and away.

Amanda Seyfried was also on All My Children, and was on at the same time as Alexandria Daddario and, I think, Jonathan Bennett.

How could you have missed Anne Heche, Kate Mulgrew, Richard Dean Anderson, and Mark Hamill. You need another list.

reply

Anne Heche started acting on Another World playing twins. Got to meet her recently and talk to her about it.
reply

You missed the opportunity to mention Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan playing the same character on AMC
reply

Let us not forget that Michael B Jordan got his start on All My Children as Jack Montgomery's adopted son Reggie.
reply

Omg, that was Steven Webber with Julianne Moore. To quote the Simpsons, Tonight on Wings. ah who cares.
