The way the criminal justice system works is Murder is classed as the worst crime one person can commit on another person. and unless Manslaughter is given, Murder cannot ever be dismissed and taken lightly and someone getting away with it so to speak. I know gypsy got her evil mother murdered coz of the evil abuse ( I myself was a child victim of horrific abuse ) but unfortunately examples have to be set and the law must be followed to the letter, otherwise if someone didn't get convicted of murder when they are clearly Guilty then there will be no fear of being arrested, prosecuted and sent to prison for anyone. and the world will all be running around killing the evil if this world ( and I would be at the front of that mob as evil should die ) but being convicted of murder has to put the fear of god into people so they don't murder people

Despite how horrible Gypsys mom treated her, I still can not stand by Gypsys side and say she had every right to do what she did. Even if she didnt know, she manipulated Nick into killing her mother, and then later on when they got caught she proceeded to lie about it. Gypsy knew full and well what she was doing and saying, I also dont understand why she felt that having her mom killed was the only option, like Mel says in the show, why didnt she just get up and run away? Her mom wouldnt have known where she went and its not like she couldve gone and reported it to police, seeing as Gypsy was already an adult. I feel for Gypsy, I really do, I wish she didnt go through what she did, its true pain. I hope when she is released she lives a better and healthier life, I wish her the very best.

I was shoked to learn that the Pediatric Urologist Dr Bernard Flastocine didn't report his concerns over the medical records and the way Gypsy Rose was being treated by DeeDee. Gypsy was let down by ALL who had the chance to raise thier concerns and NEVER bothered. I broke down and cried when I learned of this now 31 year old lady's childhood and even though I feel the pain this child as she was back then, had suffered at the hands of her mother but if only they had checked on the mother's mental health and found she was or had a mental disorder, then maybe just maybe the pair of them wouldn't be where they are today to be honest. The system let them both down.

For the rest of my life i will never understand how her mother was so deviously cruel to her daughter and impose such mental and emotional abuse, yet that poor girl is in prison when she should be in intense therapy! Had anyone else been held captive and tortured, later killing their tormentor, then the killing would've been justified! Unfortunately, it wasn't viewed in that way because the captor happened to be her mother, which to me makes what happened to Gypsy worse!

Please dont put all the blame on Goodejohn. Gypsy isnt the innocent victim everyone seems to think she is. She an extremely skilled liar & manipulator. Also she only offered herself to be raped because it drove her jealousy thinking of the boyfriend being with her mother.
Goodejohn should be in a mental hospital & Gypsy shouldve gotten 25 years. She still be under 50 on release.
I just cant stand the way everyone paints her as the ultimate victim.

im so sad how the story went, i never got the satifaction of her mother rotting in a jail cell and being abuse by a huge woman name bertha, her mom died a quick death and deserve a more justice revenge than of a quick death, ok why didnt she just leave her mom she didnt have to kill her, know she left and would never come back and random letters now and then would of been the ultimate punishment but i never got that so sad

I think Gypsy manipulated Nick into doing her dirty work. I also think the punishment he got was messed up they both should have gotten the same punishment she may have been caged by her mother but Nick has mental issues himself his mother said he had the mind of a child. I love this show when i first watch this i knew she was innocent and i got mad when other people says other wise and i have so many proof but no one would hear me out on it but I found so many people that say she is innocent and she had too leave her mom i hate everyone almost everyone tho i love her so much I really excited when she gets out of jail

will everybody ignore the fact how gypsy used Nick? He was retarded, he had a mind of 15-year-old and she persuaded him to do the killing and then dumped him. She will be free soon and he got a life sentence. Once he solved her problem, she disposed of him andfound another lover. Basically she seems like her acts are dictated by her heat.

Although I do not agree with what happened to Gypsy and it should not have happened the mother is nothing more than a victim of Munchausen by proxy herself if you remember in the show it showed how DD's mother pretty much ripped Gypsy from her arms the second she was born and she was not able to properly bond with the child

I wonder though, if Gyspy truly did have a mentality of a younger age, due to the fact that her mom stunted her in so many ways. Either that or her mom just told her that because she wanted to manipulate Gypsy to feel as helpless and disabled as possible. Or maybe a little bit of both.

Nick was a nice guy. Nick was very manipulated by Gypsy. She used the fact that he had multiple personalities so that he would kill her mum for her. I'm sorry but he's a victim of Gypsy. He wasn't a bad person. He needed help not jail time.
