It actually happens a lot on long running shows that writers will write the cast members actual lives into their characters storylines, and as a writer myself Im sometimes on the fence about that- it does lend a bit more realism and authenticity to the characters and all writers pull from the real world- but it also shouldnt be done without the actors consent. At the end of the day they signed up to portray a character on screen not relive their personal problems for the worlds entertainment, and while it can happen on accident, an actors personal life shouldnt be something theyre forced to relive on screen without their consent. And its definitely not something that is solely on the writers as it can come from producers, show runners etc. but it is something that everyone on set should be respectful of. Unfortunately what often happens is you pick up your script and in that first read find out that theyre taking your character in a different direction and ambush you with it so you cant say no.

The fact that none of the absolute bs they went through behind the scenes translated on screen is a testament to how truly amazing they all were. To this day I am still obsessed with this show because it truly makes me believe in good people and love and music again. I hate that they were truly suffering while acting on it and I hate MS with a fiery passion. I also find it absolutely baffling that they thought Sophia Bush wasn't hot enough. NOBODY in could ever play that role other than her. Her ability to convey such a wide range of emotions with just a single look floored high school me. B. Davis and P. Sawyer made me believe in love and that such a deep unwavering friendship did exist.

Could always tell Lucas(Chad) was terrible at basketball lol he looked so uncomfortable in a lot of scenes. Being from NC, I loved the show even more. until the later seasons. I still believe they should've ended the show after season 6. Nathan makes it to the NBA, Lucas and Peyton have their kid and leave OTH, and Brooke goes to tell Julian she loves him. Also, Mark Schwahn is most definitely a weirdo with how he harassed the female cast and crew, then also putting personal stuff into the story line.

I know this is un-related to the specific video topic but I absolutely BAWL my eyes out everytime Nathan crashes that car and during the wedding finale when the scene cuts with Haley just screaming on the bridge. I've seen the show at least 10x start to finish and those two scenes get me EVERYTIME. Jeez it's got me tearing up now just thinking about it.

So just close that piehole of yours and be quiet. Your jealousy seeps out of your very pours, as you know you'll never be as great of an actor as he is! Or as good looking either!

I had a feeling Chad was bad at basketball, in an episode of Dawson's Creek he couldn't make a basketball.
Also it's funny that Chad and James auditioned for the other brother, but I can't see that now and I'm glad it didn't happen. But that was the same thing with the Winchester brothers, Jared and Jensen auditioned for the other

2: 40 this is too funny cuz I noticed it was always a stunt double for chad on he river courts or in the game who played for him but James didnt have a stunt double and my auntie who is obsess with this show didnt understand at first lol now we know why hes was bad at bball James actually played ball n life u could he was a real baller

Great List I think they want Chad as Bad Boy, because chad play a bad boy in Gilmores Girl(and that great) they want him as bad boy, but he was great as Lucas.

I still love this show because of the high school years and character development, but mainly for the actresses and what they stood for. So it was definitely tough hearing the culture that Mark Schwahn led there.

I know I wasn't technically the target audience but I did see this show and quite enjoyed it, especially the first 4 seasons. I liked the basketball element and discovered some new music as a result.
