As much as I loved this show, I kind of wish the producers had done a bit more research on the anachronisms on this show. The one that stood out enough for me to actually investigate was the Dick Van Dyke DVD set. That particular set (and the series in general) wasn't released on DVD until May of 2005. Given that the MCU established in this series that Wanda and Pietro were born in 1989, same year as Olsen, that little girl and boy in those flashbacks would be at minimum 15 years old, assuming that Sokovia got that box set at the same time as the US. Given it's war torn status at that particular point, that seems unlikely, meaning they were probably closer to 18 if not older. That's not even getting into the fact that that scene was apparently supposed to be when they were 10, setting it in 1999, which is before Malcolm in the Middle (which is featured in that collection of DVDs in the flashback) had even started airing. Also, DVDs in 1999? Sure, they were a thing, but even in the US they were a luxury item until the early 2000s when the prices for players dropped below $100, let alone a war torn country like Sokovia.

While Agatha was casted as the nosey neighbor, Dottie represented the nosey neighbor that knew something was up that tried to find evidence like in Bewitched, I dream of Jeannie, and other shows I can think of.
Tv shows back in the day always had the nosey wife who would to find evidence to expose while the husband usually tells her to relax. It usually always ended with the town thinking she's crazy. (You can't probably add Mr. Wilson to the list because he kept telling everyone that Dennis was a Menace while his wife would tell him to relax and that he was just a child)
The confrontation at the committee meeting represented every I know about you and you family and I'm going to find out the truth conversation trope

I was pretty surprised to hear that WandaVision was NOT a parody of sitcoms. That means it is just a sitcom Marvel created, and it is a pastiche of sitcoms from 6 decades. Interesting! I was really impressed to see Luc Schaeffer make a 9-part miniseries out of one Family Guy episode from 3 years ago. However, Family Guy Through the Years went through 3 decades in 1 episode, while WandaVision went through 6 decades in 9 episodes.

Elizabeth Olsen deserves an Emmy for her work on this show and sadly due to the way the awards are voted on has almost no chance of getting one. It is hard to fit the show into either comedy or drama and the votes are based on one specific episode the actors (and their teams) chose to submit with. You really can't appreciate how wonderful her work is based off of just one episode.

I always found it funny how much the 80's episode referenced full house since Elizabeth Olsen's sisters were actually ON full house! Lol when they announced that Mary Kate and Ashley were not going to return for Fuller House, I had been kind of hoping maybe Elizabeth would make a guest appearance for maybe even just one episode and she could take a turn as Michelle

Do you think Elizabeth Olsen liked having a series where she turned the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a sitcom, since her older twin sisters were in Full House when they were children? John Stamos has a really cute picture of himself with Elizabeth Olsen playing a flower girl that he revealed to us near the end of WandaVision's run.

At first I thought its just a series on wanda and vision but it was a play on television its a hint before the shoe begins. wanda being the media like the tv that you look thru and the fact that its sitcoms throughout tv history gives us a sense of escapism and that is what wanda wanted to escape reality like we do when we watch sitcom

Also in the Halloween episode at about the 10 minute mark, just after Wanda asks Pietro why he looks different, Pietro offers to help the boys get candy and Tommy says Yeah, Kick-ass. This felt like a direct call out to the movie that gave the OTHER/REAL Pietro (namely Aaron Taylor-Johnson) his big breakout roll.

Point of trivia: In later seasons of Dick Van Dyke, he does in fact avoid the trip over the ottoman. Also, Bewitched also went from B&W to color during its run, and the male lead character, Darren, was recast from Dick Sergeant to Dick York after a couple of seasons.

It was so weird watching this video. I've always known Elizabeth Olsen was related to Ashley and Mary-Kate, but she made a face when talking and I was just like Cheez! She looks just like her sisters! She never really looked like them to me before.

Elizabeth Olsen's acting was INCREDIBLE as all the sitcom characters! .and then got rather awkward as actual Wanda, imo. Maybe it was just the accent, or maybe mannerisms too. but I was blown away otherwise. She did the Modern Family mom perfectly!

About Agnes, I know that her Halloween costume was an easter egg about her real identity but I also found it nice that her hairstyle int the 80s episode looked like Cher's hairstyle in the witches of Eastwick (where Cher plays guess what? a witch.

My favorite reference would have to be the Full House one. You could also tell it's a reference by another scene in the intro. There is one scene in the intro where the whole family is running while the camera is filming them.

I doubt it was purposeful, but seeing Debra Jo Rupp, an actor from one of my favourite sitcoms, That 70s show was my own personal favourite pop culture reference. Even if that wasnt what they were doing.
