The dancing is fun to watch but you have to take it all with a grain of salt. Its television, everything is edited and manipulated. In order to progress on the show you need to improve each week with your dancing but you also need to stay interesting and engaging while doing it. Sometimes contestants just arent given interesting narratives. I remember Willow Shields was supposed to conform to the youngest ever contestant practically a toddler narrative when she was a show biz veteran and used to behaving like a miniature adult. There was not a lot of depth there so it became too dull to continue with and she was eliminated.

What is the point objectifying and criticizing bad dance performances when they all did and try their best? Enough is enough of this nonsense! Anyone making such a dispute makes the contestants and their dance partners disgusted, harassed, belittled, intimidated, infringed, and transgressed. Maybe those people criticize and objectify this way must go on DWTS for themselves knowing exactly what it is like if they become worse dance performers. Please respect them as they are!

I dont think age has anything to do with how you dance. A bad dancer is just a bad dancer no matter their age. Donny Osmond was 51 when he won the show, Alfonso riberio won in his 40s, Jennifer grey won at 50. lolo jones was young and fit, yet an awful dancer! Just think, if tucker Carlson competed now he'd probably win even though he was a terrible dancer given how his fan base grew in the years since he was on

Each one of these people deserves credit for having the courage to dance on national TV and a live audience. It takes a lot of courage to get out there and do something you've never done before and get judged for it. And, in spite of the blatant ageism in this commentary, it seems that lack of experience and nervousness were to blame for the less-than-perfect performances.

I don't think ageism is that big a deal tbh, but this entire list is basically this dance sucked because the person was old which got tired real quick.
The Steve Wozniak one I actually felt bad about. He looked like he was really trying and enjoying what he was doing, especially at 59 at that time.

I give these stars props for coming on here and dancing and at least attempting to make it look professional. Yes they werent good but they tried. And if I heard age mentioned one more time, I was going to scream. There are plenty of young stars that have competed on here that sucked.

Guys, you should be ashamed of yourselves the ageism is all over this clip! My mother danced some and she loved dancing, she died at 55 due to lung cancer, my dad is 58, he loves to play the guitar and writes songs as he even likes to dance sometimes as well but thats on a good day!

I love how Wendy Williams went into the competition already knowing that they'd harshly critique her and constantly remind both her and the viewers that she couldn't dance and she smiled during every critique as if to say tell me something that I don't already know

I think we can collectively agree that the Cha-Cha-Cha is the downfall here. Also I wish they would hand out the. Elderly couples to other dancers instead of the same ones over and over setting them up to lose. The real dancers deserve it at least

I draw the line of giving the stars credit for trying when theyre just being straight up difficult for no reason, like Kate, Mischa, and especially Master P. The pros just want to dance and have a good time and shouldnt have to put up with that.

Although theyre not great dances, I still feel really bad when they get scores below a 5: ( theyre trying their best. I also find it unfair how they have to eliminate someone the very first week. it gives them no time to redeem themselves!

Why all the ageist comments? There are plenty of people of all ages who aren't great dancers and many of all ages who are. Whoever wrote the script for this video should think a bit about how bad it sounds and how little sense it makes.

This is not about DWTS, but ageism. Go and watch videos of Ed Nava dancing. That dude is a grandfather, but still got moves, and boy, he's also easy on the eyes! No, there's nothing creepy about it, older people can be attractive.

It doesn't matter your age. Dancing in front of a audience is not easy. I use to dance ballet and tap. For those criticizing the dancers, I would love to see them get off their, and prove they can do better.

Those outfits didn't help at all. Made them look worse than bad. Most of the pros aren't on the show anymore. If the pros though can't manage to shape them that is on the pro as much as the star.

Almost 40? That's not even old! I'm 31 and my bf is 42 and he's much more athletic than me. Also, jlo is older and can dance her ass off. Age does not mean stiff. Ms MOJO you should be ashamed.

Tony and Mark often end up with very hard to teach partners. I commend them for that. I find them to be two of the best pros to be on the show. They're also very hot.
