Good list, definitely agree on most of these! Though I think Hedwig's death is talked about more in the book than in the movie, which I appreciated.
I'd had to say my favorites changes to the movies are Slughorn's story about Lily as a student and the fish she gave him, and then the (deleted) scene from Deathly Hallows Prt 1 with Aunt Petunia; in the book, she looks at Harry as if she's about to say something, but then she just leaves. In the movie, there is a deleted scene (now shown on TV with most airings) where Aunt Petunia mentions that she can't believe she's leaving her house after so many years. Harry tells her she has to, otherwise the Death Eaters will hunt them down, to which she replies You think I don't know what they're capable of? You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow. I lost a sister. It doesn't redeem her for all of the horrible things she did to Harry, but it does give her a moment of humanity that she still had some love for Lily.

7, 9 and 10 happen properly in the book; they're just picturised. They're not additions.
6. Neville's speech was more braver in books than in films.
4. Snape arriving at Godrics' hollow was unwarranted, but I could only see how cold and indifferent was he to the crying baby boy Harry.
3. You mean Tale of three Brothers was filmed which was not possible in Books?
1. Hermione modifying the memory of her parents has been a touching scene, but the spell was wrong.
.
The two things I personally thought were better in movies were a) Aberforth casting patronus instead of Harry to drive away the Dementors during the Battle of Hogwarts and b) Harry destroying the Elder wand instead of getting carried away by sentiment and keeping it in Dumbledore's tomb, because that powerful wand with allegiance to him would any day be a grave danger.

I mostly agree, but I think they didn't portray Hedwig's death very well. There was so much going on, it was easy to miss. The first time I saw it, I didn't realize that she was dead until Harry said so. They should've spent a little more time on it, and maybe shown who cast the spell that got her.
Snape's death was a great scene and perhaps should've gone on the list. (Actually most of the scenes that Rickman portrayed should go on everyone's list. :) )
Another scene that I think everyone missed was when they left the shrieking shack, and were confronted by the werewolf. Snape, even though he didn't have a wand, immediately sheltered the kids behind him to protect them. This showed that he was willing to sacrifice his life to protect the innocent. That was a brilliant piece of foreshadowing.
Snape was by far the best character in the movies.

I love, love, love Nevilles stand one of the best scenes him and Ralph were great. Harry on the luck potion was just comedy gold I have often watched this scene over and over I love it that much. Showing the trio getting prepared for what to come at the beginning of deathly hallows was great and set the tone. But the spell was wrong she only modified their memories. I want to add though, the Harry and Hermione dance scene that was so moving. And both Ron and Hermiones first kiss and Harry and Ginnys I preferred the movies versions sorry not sorry. Ron and Hermione kiss in the movie felt more natural but a bit forced in the books.

Two changes I can think of:
1. When Harry brings back Cedric's body in the movie version of Goblet of Fire they had Amos Diggory tearfully screaming That's my boy! It really added to the impact of Cedric's death in the movies.
2. In The Deathly Hallows Part 1, when we see some Death Eaters stop the Hogwarts Express to search for Harry, and then Neville Longbottom, with some other students behind him, looks the Death Eaters bravely in the eyes and says something like He's not here. It may have been just a small touch, but it gave us a small taste of what kind of character Neville was developing into.

What I love about Deathly Hallows Part 2 are the subtle nods to Hermione's emotional pain over erasing her parents' memories. When she escapes with Harry and Ron she takes them to trafalgar square- because it popped into her head since she used to go to the theatre there with mum and dad. And again, when she takes Harry to the Forest of Dean- because it's where she camped with her mum and dad. There is no lingering on these moments, but it speaks volumes about the quiet strength of Hermione as she doesn't make a fuss about how much pain she's in.

Nice one James is only 7? Criminally underrated. Sirius is not slipping up on Harrys name, but the name of the greatest person he had ever known. As a child, Sirius and James were best friends, and for years of his life, Sirius idolized James. After years and years, Sirius sees what a good person, and good wizard Harry is, and who Harry is as a person reminds Sirius of who James was. He thinks back to James being his idol, and realizes that Harry is continuing the good legacy of James Potter.

Personally, I thought Siriuss character was much better done in the 5th movie better than the book. In the 5th book, hes always in a bad mood, selfish and is no help to Harry just because he couldnt go outside. He had to stay in Azkaban for 12 years (and it didnt affect him mentally) and hes making the biggest deal of not going outside. In the movie, hes much kinder, in a much better mood, gives great advice to Harry and Goldman and Radcliffes relationship feels so natural.

# 9 - really? In the book Hermione was tortured with the crutiatus curse and had terrible pain; in the movie, Bellatrix was simply writing mudblood on her skin. I'd like to think that the crutiatus curse, as one of the forbidden curses, is much more pain than this - especially when you remember that Nevilles parents were going mad because of the torture with this curse. In the movie, this scene is a joke.
The other scenes you have mentioned, I can mostly agree.

I didn't find the Snape Lily scene emotional, I thought it showed more of Snape's selfish character how he ignored a baby screaming over it's mother corpse and goes to Lily instead like who does that? Who could ignore a crying child who just witnessed their parents death and not rush to comfort it or check it's okay? I don't even like children but if I stumbled upon a murder scene with a crying baby in view of it's dead parent I would instinctively go to comfort the baby.

1: 40 they ruined that scene in my opinion. In the book we only hear her screams and see Ron screaming back and yelling for her. He wants to help her and he screams in pain that the love of his life is being hurt. This shows how much he loves her. In the movie hes aggravated and anxious. He reacts the same way as Luna and Olivander. Which is why people who only watch the movies think the relationship came out of nowhere.

I think the movie dealt with Sirius's character alot better than the book. he seemed constantly annoyed and impatient and I understand being locked up all day in the house with no answers from Dumbledore and taunts from severus but he seemed much more mature and less distant from harry, especially when that year was one of the hardest of his life and had no one else to turn but Sirius
reply

hmmmm. there is a lot missing here. why did they have ron basically not react to hermione getting tortured if they supposedly loved each other. neville is absolutely no coward either. did you see the first film or read the first book at all? idk this video does not seem well thought through whatsoever. unfortunately like a lot of the films
reply

One thing I really never liked about the trio in the books is their hypocrisy when it comes to secrets, because they are always keeping secrets from the people close to them but expect everyone to tell them their secrets. Fortunately this doesnt happen that often in the movies which Im thankful for.
reply

Neville was the true chosen one if you read the book it says the choosing hat sets fire around his head, this is a reference to classical Aeneid (when the protagonist fulfils his fate his head catches a light but obviously not in a bad way, he was not a coward, he was the protagonist hidden in plain sight.
reply

this maybe an unpopular opinion but the scary part is in the chamber of secrets was a jump scare of the spider in the car and so much tension and action from ron and harry. it's funny and trilling and that's one of my favorite scenes in the chamber of secrets and one of my favorite movies.

You forgot two big ones:
1. Harry looking at his friends when possessed by Voldemort and saying You're the weak one, and you'll never know love or friendship
2. Umbridge when attacked by centaurs saying tell them I mean no harm. Harry answering Sorry professor, I must not tell lies

reply

It should be noted that Ron and Hermione did also row in the book, Goblet of Fire, but because of Harry being distracted, he only caught the tail end of their row, where she said that he should ask her before someone else does, next time there's a ball, and not ask her as a last resort
reply

I'm offended that the dance between Harry and Hermione in the tent wasn't included. :( It was such a heartwarming scene and it was so sweet to see how much they cared for each other. It was also a really welcome distraction from the bad things that were happeneing
reply

You forgot the scene from Goblet of Fire when Cedrics dad sees his sons dead body and starts crying, exclaiming that he was his son, his BOY! That scene was so emotionally powerful as it should be since Cedrics death was a turning point for the whole story.
reply

Its seriously insane how dark Harry Potter got after the 2nd film that has to be credited too Aphonso Cuaron who directs the 3rd film. Funny enough he wasnt given the next film because they thought the 3rd film was too dark yet they continued to be dark.
reply

I feel torn over Sirius calling Harry James. On the one hand, it shows his closeness to James. On the other hand, it undercuts his relationship with Harry, as it makes it seem like he sees James in Harry more than he sees Harry as his own person.
reply

Ron was too rude with Hermione. She deserved someone much better than him. Also, Harry & Hermione sharing the heartbreak moment of half blood prince & th dance together of deathly hallows are till now, my most favorite scenes
reply

You forgot Hermione hitting Harry with the parchment in The Half Blood Prince.
Hermione: Hey! She's only interested in you because she thinks you are the chosen one
Harry: (smirks) But I AM the chosen one
SLAAAAMMMMM

reply

felix felicis making Harry almost drunk wasn't a good addition. Its terribe. Just like almost everything that happened in the movie. Its so random and not funny espesially considering the book version was perfect
reply

For the one where Hermione and Ron get into a heated argument after the Yule ball, the book kinda did it better by having that take place in the common room, free from everyone whos interested in watching their drama
reply

My fave is the scene where the lads are all eating candy and playing around in the Gryffindor common room. I love that scene so much. It shows the life they should be living, a fleeting glimpse of their real age.
reply

I think the best change was Professor McGonagall telling the story about the Chamber of Secrets, and the best addition being the scene where Ron and Hermione destroying Helga Hufflepuff's cup in the chamber
reply

Why is no one talking about Hedwig? Haha that's one of my favorite parts. It was bad enough losing her in the book, but oh man having her die protecting Harry in the movie was absolutely heartbreaking.
reply

Im a huge fan of the fact that in the goblet of fire they changed the fact that Neville tells Harry about gillyweed instead of Dobby, its nice to see more of nevilles love for herbology in the story
