Not to defend Nick Dunn, who made some major life decisions without his wife's input. cheated on her, and was pretty skeezy in general -- but let's be real. Amy framed him for murder and later straight up murdered a man (okay, that guy actually did have it coming but she then used the deed to further her revenge/power play, and then she impregnated herself simply to ensure that she had permanent leverage over Nick. There's bad behavior and then there's psychotic murderous behavior. It's quite possible that the only safe time to break up with Amy was before they'd ever gotten involved.

The thing with twilight is while the books are slightly better in terms of the personalities being shown. Edward is much creepier as is Jacob and the others, if I remember correctly one of the werewolves had imprinted on a 12 year old. which raises a few questions.
I hate people defending that aspect in the story with he can't control it or He doesn't feel that way till later. bruh she's still a child. Hell the entire second movie just makes me question if bella should be in a ward as no one should be that hung up on a person they were dating.

If a partner changes their mind and then changes it again, they should break up.
If the couple is dull and have nothing in common. they should call it quits.
Telling a lie is a game changer. It's just not permitted and can never be forgiven. Ever.
You need to have the same values and ambitions as your partner, otherwise it'll all fall apart.
I dont think that's how emotionally mature relationships work. Also, as a small-time Twilight fan, I'm so sick of seeing it on these lists. Yes, I get what you're saying. Let it go.

I am so glad Dex and Rachel are on this list. They're definitely not the most toxic people on the list, but them staying together was such a letdown and lowkey anticlimactic. I get the whole right person wrong time thing but that's just it- they weren't the right people at the time they got together. It was messy and complicated and he put everything before her to save face. I honestly hoped she would have gotten with Ethan because he always put her first even when he didn't agree with her and it would have made a better plot line tbh

I gotta add two things:
1. Out of these 20 films Ive seen like 10 and dont even remember half of them, especially not the person they end up with. Also, we are talking about cheesy romcoms aka Nothing is intended to be close to real life!
2. As someone who read the after franchise books, I have to say that Tessa is not good for Hardin either! While he has anger management issues and child traumas, she is playing with him in a very bad way because she doesnt want to let go of him.

Sierra Burgess did NOT deserve to be in a relationship with Noah. I mean. their entire relationship was so weird and. bleh. I've only seen that movie like once. and the whole time I was watching it was so. hsfkhlrflkrf. So messed up and weird. I really didn't like that movie. I honestly would've liked it more if Jaime and Vernoica got together because Veronica actually liked him and Jaime thought he was talking to her the whole time anyway. That whole movie was so crazy.

Mine would probably be the After series and Sierra Burgess. I'm bummed that Sierra isn't number one (especially since I'm totally Team Edward) I love Twilight and hate Sierra Burgess Is A Loser so I'm totally biased. But seriously in my own opinion the storyline of Edward and Bella isn't even the worst couple on this list. Oh! Fifty Shades! That's probably the worst one to me. So Fifty Shades, Sierra Burgess and After are the ones that I wished had broken up.

Im sooo glad gigli was on this list! That movie was one of the worst movies Id ever watched! The central couple (Lopez & Afleck) were so wrong for each other that they should NEVER have ended up together! If toxic relationship movies are your thing, then you could say its a great movie. Since Im not into those kind of movies, this is one movie where the couple should have gone their separate ways (relationship wise.

I'm sorry but i have to disagree with Bella and Edward. Yes Edward can been seen as controlling towards Bella but in the ned all he ever wants to do is keep her safe from his kind. The fact that Bella's his bloodsinger would make it even harder fro him to stay away as well as the fact that when Bella is finally turned they have now become mates, which makes there situation more understandable at least to me.

How about Andie and Blane ending up together in Pretty in Pink? There are MANY fans who feel Andie should have ended up with her close friend Duckie. That's how the film originally ended, until a test audience convinced John Hughes and others to change the ending. The new ending found Andie ending up with Blane, upsetting a number of the film's dedicated fans.

I'm going to defend Eric and Holly, sorry. I think they do show growth through the movie and only started a relationship in the end. It's not like they jumped from fighting to getting married. That was a process and by the end we just get an ideia of how they will manage things, but it's not super definitive whitch leaves space for even more growth in their future.

The medias overwhelming desire and incessant need to romanticize toxic relationships is a long term problem that a lot of directors and writers and so on dont seem to want to change. I understand mirroring reality that unhealthy relationships do happen but even healthy ships in movies and tv are treated like they are boring or not ideal. Its awful.

It will forever piss me off that Rachel took Dex back after he turned her down when she made her love proclamation in the rain. It wouldve been a powerful message and huge character arc for her to move on from him. She might have stood up to her narcissistic friend but shes still spineless for keeping someone who hurt her over and over again.

Ive never seen From Justin to Kelly and I assume its mostly they cant act bc if you watched American Idol Season 1, they had amazing actual chemistry. The fact were so cute and supportive of each other on the show, it was adorable. Sadly it didnt seem to transfer well to the movie, but I promise they had amazing chemistry IRL.

After series couple Tess and Harde should be on the top those people had big issues and instabilities it was break ups every now and then you could not even wait to know what will happen when they begun arguing cause the next thing was just a breakup I for one would not like to have Hardin for a boyfriend I would go mad
reply

The thing is knives really liked Scott, but he was 23 and she was 17. Though not a terrible age gap
He was using her from the beginning to get over his ex. Meaning he never liked her fully from the beginning. Then attached himself to Ramona when knives got too clingy and never told her he wanted to break up

I wanted so much that Anne Hathaway's character did not go back to her annoying boyfriend in Devil's wear Prada. she deserved someone better.
And in Happiest season I really agree, Kirsten S's character deserved better. and I don't think in real life it would be that easy to forgive and forget,

reply

While I agree that Twilight and 50 Shades are problematic and toxic, I think that Tessa's and Hardin's relationship is the worst and should have been Nr. 1. Hardin is taking the jealous, controlling boyfriend to another level and I don't see any redeeming qualities in him.
reply

It's hilarious when people try to defend 50 Shades of Grey and Twilight's main love interests to me. As soon as I start listing off why they're absolutely terrible characters and people, it's like they can't accept it. At this point, I've just given up.
reply

Thank you Ms Mojo. I thought I was the only one who thought that the guy from After is a 'bad choice in life'. I don't and didn't understand why she would have a relationship with such a toxic guy. She might have autoestim issues tho.
reply

Shia LaBeouff and Megan Fox as their characters in the transformers franchise shouldve been on here thats if they really didnt split up at least they did in real life THANK GOD they were nothing but snotty shallow annoying losers
reply

i Can agree that Anna and Christian from fifty shades of Grey should have stayed broken up, because i Think that Anna should get Another guy who Can be sweet and Nice to her without trying to control her and other weird things
reply

Totally disagree about Something Borrowed. Darcy is a narcissist who knew Rachel liked Dex so she showed up on their first date and made off with him. I didn't like how they lied but IMO Darcy was the bad guy in this movie.
reply

I have the most sympathy for Nick from Gone Girl. He feels he has to stay with her; otherwise his child will be raised by a psychotic. He knows that she is crafty enough that she would get sole custody if they separated.
reply

The After series reminds me alot how homicidal crime stories start out. red flags in a relations with troubled youths. And 50 SOG. that series just screams to be turned in to a horror movie. Twilight is just weak sauce.
reply

Ah. Racheal and Dex. A relationship began under cheating and deception will end the same way. It always does, but leave it to Hollywood to convince you that they guy that cheated FOR you won''t cheat ON you.
reply

Omg Abby and Harper! That was the WORST movie I've ever seen! If I was Harper I'd be like alright I'm out! Duces! . that movie was terrible, the only good parts was seeing Dan Leavy that was it.
reply

In Twilight's defense the relationship between Edward and Bella are better in the books. Bella's got a better personality in the books and they both are less. emotionless and weird seeming in the books
reply

After is the most annoying teenage movie ever fifty shades of grey is terrible and I hate the twilight I'd prefer Jake for Bella and look j lo and Ben are married now and I never liked kissing booth
reply

I find it weird how people say that Bella and Edward's relationship is so toxic, yet they forget about Emmett and Rosalie. They are by far the most toxic couple in the whole saga in my opinion.
