Great list! I think there should be a part 2! If there is, it would be great to see the following:
-Candy or I Wanna Be with You, both by Mandy Moore from Center Stage (especially as Napoleon Dynamite got Canned Heat on this 1st list in the Honorable Mentions, and we ALL know that that song belongs to Center Stage. Just sayin'. haha)
-Pop Goes My Heart or Way Back into Love from Music and Lyrics
-Only Hope, Dare You to Move, or Cry from A Walk to Remember
-Let Go by Frou Frou from both The Holiday and Garden State (The Garden State Soundtrack was a much bigger deal back then than people want to remember it being, seemingly. But people were obsessed with it. It was a whole vibe)
-1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky from V for Vendetta
-Mad World (The Gary Jules version) from Donnie Darko
-Hero by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott from Spiderman
-Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson from The Princess Diaries 2
-Try Again by Aaliyah feat. Timbaland from Romeo Must Die
AND of COURSE
-A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton from White Chicks (I was surprised it wasn't in the top 3 of this list, honestly. That song, that movie, the 2 together. that scene! That was legit a thing for more than a hot minute in the 00's. It was almost inescapable)

glad Can't Fight The Moonlight made the list. great song, great movie
also:
Bring Me To Life ( Daredevil )
Hero ( Spider-Man )
Vindicated ( Spider-Man 2 )
He Said She Said ( Bring It On: In It To Win It )
What I've Done ( Transformers ) ( pretty much the best thing about those films aside from Peter Cullen as Optimus )
Thriller ( 13 Going On 30 )

Should have been Top 20, you missed out so many. Some that comes to my mind instantly.
A Walk to Remember - Dare you to move,
Princess Diaries 2 - Breakaway,
The Lizzie McGuire Movie - The Tide is High,
Crossroads - I'm Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman,
Madagascar - I Like to Move it,
Daredevil - My Immortal. Thanks.

This list sucks. Am I the only one who recognized fewer than half of these songs? Where is The Trouble with Love Is for Love Actually? Hero for SpiderMan? A Thousand Miles for White Chicks? When You Gonna Give it up to Me for Step Up?
Disappointed.

reply

A Thousand Miles ABSOLUTELY should have made this list. Nobody can hear the hook and not do the head bob Terry Crews does in one of the funniest scenes in film history! Might be the worst omission Ive seen on a Mojo list.
reply

Where's Chaiyaya Chaiyya (Inside man, The Blower's Daughter (Closer, A Thousand Miles (White chicks? And the whole soundtrack of Mamma Mia? Who made this list didn't live the 2000's (even if hit the target with some tunes)
reply

Sheesh! I love Napoleon Dynamite! My father used to watch it all the time when me and my little brother were kids. We didn't fully appreciate it until we were, like, ten, but it's still very iconic for the both of us!
reply

Lady Marmalade wasn't iconic to the film of Moulin Rouge: The video did provide a lot of pre-publicity (and since then, but didn't have a very prominent place in the actual movie compared to say, Nature Boy or Roxanne
reply

Backdoor Lover alone is reason enough for me to give this video a thumbs-up. Josie and the Pussycats is an underrated freaking gem of a movie. I watched it again a few weeks ago and it really holds up. So, so good!
reply

Okay you know what mojo? You got me this time. I'm 31, and I've been drinking, so I'm definelty struck with nostalgia with this list. Loving this list, and feeling a little old. Yeehaw!
reply

I'm a Believer from Shrek is great and all, but I actually would have thrown on I need a Hero from Shrek 2. I know it's on a ton of lists, but damn that's iconic as hell to me.
reply

This should have been a top 20, there are wayyy too many good ones. Like nickelback hero, the weekends earned it for 50 shades, 1000 miles in white chick's.
reply

Bring me to Life by Evanescence should have been a honourable mention, The song is played during Elektra's training scene in Daredevil.
reply

Falling Slowly was played at my uncles funeral in 2011, so when I saw it on this list, I began to get tear up. I miss him every day.
reply

Afternoon Delight makes me of the movie The Rules Of Attraction. The scene where James Van Der Beeks character is having some me time.
reply

I grew up with every single song here- from beltin out of tune Lady Marmalade to rap (and being breathless) the 8 miles Lose Yourself
reply

For me, switch #1 and #10, and move #8 to #9 (I'm not a remake snob - #3 deserves its spot - but come on. it's pretty bad.
reply

We need part 2. You guys left Bring me to Life, Decode, Vindicated, Never say Never and Don't I hold you (Elizabethtown)
reply

My kid's favourite meal is mom's spaghetti and I think about 8 Mile and Eminem's song every Wednesday (spaghetti night)
reply

I mean, it was a guarantee that 'Lose Yourself' was going to be #1 on this list. The only song on it that won an oscar
reply

Wait- youre telling me that people associate songs that arent All The Small Things by Blink 128 with Charlies Angels?
reply

Excellent list, but during the 2000 I was aducted by Beer---Drinking, and Blount---Smoking Aliens( completely true.
reply

I also cant listen to smash mouth period without thinking of Shrek. That how you know you were a 2000s kid
reply

I associate Canned Heat with Centre Stage and Cry from A Walk to Remember deserved an honorable mention at least
reply

I'm sorry, but when I hear Canned Heat I think of Center Stage way before I think of Napoleon Dynamite.
