10 - I don't Love love but I do like them. im here for texture and they can really add some nice flavors to anything from rice to a burger
9 - oysters. haven't actually tried them. Ive had many chances to and just need to. I think ill hate them if they take particularly like salt water but with lemon juice sounds like it could be good
8 -SPAM - I got you there cuz Im very neutral. IM not going to order it or cook it myself but if someone offers SPAM and eggs or a SPAM sammie I would eat it.
7 - something else im in the middle of the road because I do like coconut in some things but not everything. I HATE coconut water, I like coconut milk, I hate coconut chips, I like the Girl Scout cookies with coconut pieces.
6 - HATE beats. do not give me a beat and yes Dwight would steer me wrong in many ways
5 - never had them whole. they seem like they'd be good on pizza whole. I love Caesar dressing and fish oil so I guess I would like them
4 - brussles sprouts are good depending on how you cook them. im game though
3 - don't care for black licorice. and on the debate of red vines vs twizzlers im team red vines
2 - okay so this is weird because I do like cilantro when its in something (I eat a lot of Mexican food so cilantro is a way of life) BUT alone it does taste like soap to me and if theres too much I also get that flavor.
1 - ive had pineapple on pizza it wasn't bad. im here for sweet and salty but not sweet and savory. the combo of wet pineapple on oily pizza can be kinda gross. if the pineapple has been dried out just a bit with the heat its not bad. I would eat it, I have, I won't anymore though lol

10. Love them, especially shitaki mushrooms
9. I hate them raw, but cooked is a different story
8. Not a fan of it, so no
7. Not a fan of coconut water, but everything else is a big yum yum
6. Love beets, but every time when I cook them, I could never cook them long enough. So I say no. Also beet chips are the best
5. I love most seafoods and anchovies are no exception
4. I love brussels sprouts, also I want some of those roasted brussels sprouts!
3. Hate licorice but love licorice all-sorts
2. I love cilantro
1. Pineapple pizza was actually a childhood favourite and I still love it today. When I was a kid, pineapple, cheese and vegetarian pizzas were the only pizzas that I liked since I was pretty picky when it came to pizzas. Nowadays I can have any pizza except those with hot peppers

I like most of the thing here on the list. But there are a few things I've never eaten before. So I wouldn't know if I like them or not. The things I've never eaten before on this list are:
1. Oysters - too expensive for our food budget
2. Spam - never had it, my Mom doesn't like it but apparently my maternal grandfather loved it.
3. Beets - never had it, but my Mom likes it and will buy it once in a while.
4. Anchovies - never had it, and don't think I want to try it.
5. Brussels Sprouts - never had it, my Mom doesn't like them, but my maternal cousin does.
6. Coconut Water - never had it, but I do like regular coconut.
And I LOVE black licorice. Especially the soft black licorice that I can get at my local Walgreens. And once in a while zouts, mainly when we have the extra money.

#2: keep cilantro away from me. Oh my god that's my least favorite food, the taste is horrendous.
#1: You need the sweet to balance out the savory, I love pineapple on pizza it's so good.

reply

I've always loved mushrooms, cilantro and brussel sprouts ever since I was a little kid. Brussel sprouts and broccoli are my favorite vegetables. Cooked broccoli and cooked brussel sprouts are delicious with extra virgin olive oil on them for a healthier alternative, instead of cheese or butter. Spam, licorice and coconut are the foods that I loathe and can't stand. Love anchovies on pizza and love all kinds of fish and seafood. Pineapple on pizza sounded nasty and strange to me when I was younger. But when I
was 13 years old, I finally tasted pineapple on pizza, and it tasted really good. Spinach on pizza is also very good.

reply

My family hates any vegetables on their pizza, which I do not understand. I love pineapple. But I don't eat it on pizza because it makes the pizza more acidic than it already is. Which is not good for acid reflux. I'm not a fan of ham either, so Hawaiian pizza is out. I love mushrooms, oysters (when cooked, spam (primarily as breakfast meat, beets, Brussel sprouts, and cilantro.
I don't like the texture of coconuts, but I like the smell of beauty products. I've never tried anchovies, but because I'm not a fan of fish in general, no thanks. I'm indifferent to red licorice. I hate black licorice with a passion.

reply

I love everything on this list except the last one. I also knew my college mate's Italian grandmother absolutely hated ham and pineapple pizza. One time when she and his parents visited his dorm, he decided to prank her by ordering 2 large pizzas Hawaiian style from a famous NY pizzeria. When his nonna opened the box, she was so livid that she threw both pizzas in the garbage. She called them abominations and quite literally threatened her grandson to never ever prank her with that again. She even said when I told her who invented Hawaiian pizza, that Greeks should not reinvent Italian cuisine.

reply

Black Licorice is nasty. I remember on road trips when I was growing up we'd have a bag of black and red licorice, my brothers and I would eat the red and our parents would end up with the black which my mom loved.
I know of one food item that didn't make the list that some people love and others think tastes nasty. It's Chocolate. Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate. Everyone has their favorites but others can't stand any of it.

reply

reply

Im somewhat of a picky eater, I hate Mushrooms, licorice and beets. I actually enjoy Hawaiian pizza with pineapple and ham since it gives pizza a bit of sweetness and I love the combo of salty and sweet. I went to a buffet and tried Oysters and hated them but when I ate Oysters at this restaurant Neptune Oyster ( one of the best oyster places in the country) I really liked them
reply

I don't hate any foods, I just dislike some, there is only 1 fruit (so far) that I can't stand the smell; Papaya Melon, to me it smells like poop.
And anything with White grounded pepper. To me and 1 of my siblings it smells like dried horse poop.
And since we don't fancy eating any kind of poop, I definitely dislike those two things.

reply

I am cray cray for coconut. I could drink it out of its source or eat shredded coconut. Itxs my favorite.
Also, I'm shocked to see cilantro on the list. Like. do people not like cilantro? Wait, do people just not like stuff like Pico de Gallo where cilantro adds so much flavor? Weird. That is baffling to me. Mind blown.

reply

It is genetic but it goes further than the way you explained it. See, the people that hate cilantro have a mutated OR6A2 gene indicative of the fact that somewhere down the line they are likely more descendant of east Asians, while the people who like cilantro, (like me, are likely more descendant of middle easterners.

when I think of black liquorice i think of this scene in total drama action
Chris: Throws a pipe in his mouth

reply

Lol, oh my gawd, I wouldn't care how anyone prepared brussels sprouts, if they tried serving them to me, my automatic response would be to chuck them back at their head in disgust and seriously, a just imagining any meal with brussels sprouts and black licorice is nightmare fuel.
reply

I like everything on this list except beets. But I prefer bacon and pineapple on pizza instead of ham and pineapple. I don't usually order pineapple on my pizza though because my husband is allergic to it. Also my 3 year old daughter calls licorice lickywish.
reply

There is nothing on this list that I would say that I completely hate. However, there are some that I would prefer not to eat, particularly Brussel Sprouts; or Anchovies (unless they are an ingredient in another dish, such as pizza or a Caesar Salad.
reply

Dont like: Mushrooms, Oysters, Coconut (I only like coconut milk, Beets, Anchovies, Brussels Sprouts & the only licorice that I dont like is black licorice. pineapple on pizza shouldnt be number one, it should be like number 10, because it is good on pizza!
reply

10. I love mushrooms
9. Never tried them
8. Never tried them
7. I hate the smell of coconut oil but I love coconut water
6. I hate them
5. Never tried them
4. Never tried them
3. Never tried them
2. I like it
1. Never tried it

reply

I don't understand. People are against pineapple on pizza because they don't like the idea of fruit being on pizza. But last I checked, pizza is made with tomato sauce. Tomato is a fruit. I'd say your argument is invalid at this point
reply

Well, now I have another reason to not like black licorice. Thank you, WatchMojo. And now that I've discovered I like pineapple, I actually like the idea of having it on a pizza. I plan to try it whenever I get a chance.
reply

Hawaiian pizza is the best. My argument is if you haven't tried it, you've lost your right to have an opinion. If you've tried it, and you still don't like it, that's fine. (Don't knock it until you've tried it)
reply

I havent eaten licorice since I was 5 and decided I was never doing that again so black licorice is something Ive never touched. Now that I know you can overdose on it I feel like my dislike of licorice is validated.
reply

I love mushrooms, brussel sprouts, coconut and cilantro. Beets and licorice are ok, anchovies. depends, on pizza, maybe. Oysters and pineapple on pizza
I have never tried Spam, nor do I want to, ever

reply

Cilantro does not taste like soap It's just an acquired taste. If you love Mexican or Asian food it's nothing without Cilantro. Now parsley I find brings nothing but color to a dish and no taste at all.
