I appreciate Oprah but she has to make it a habit of not cutting others off when speaking. I love Viola. she deserves this love and respect! Also I am not surprised by her forgiving her father. Too often we want to harbor hate and sorry in our hearts but it makes our soul uneasy. I think we need to allow this moment to be a commendable one. To tell a victim of an abusive home that you are surprised is to negate that path it took to ease her soul of what the pain drained from her. Just be happy for her for choosing the right path. which is leading only with love and grace.

Hi, Oprah thanks for share this beautiful interview in Netflix, I saw it with Spanish subtitles. Beyond our interracial and cultural differences, human beings have many things in common that identify us and make us have empathy. I loved the interview of the two, icons of this modern era, two great professionals and exceptional women.
I would love to buy the book, and I am sure that, like me, millions of Hispanic women would love to be able to read it in Spanish. Could you convey this concern to Viola?

A very Great Actress and she's so authentic telling her Truth no matter how difficult the her truth is. I never understood why the Oscar are so reluctant to have a Black Actress when that Best Actress category since Halle Berry or do I really have to ask? Such as the movie Fence's she was the only lead female character but won for best supporting actress? Oscar are full of CRAP it's no wonder why the ratings are going down ever Year they're so behind the Times.

I am living under a rock because I did not know about Daviss book or interview. After seeing this video, I am interested in reading her story.
She has overcome such trauma and hardship that many of is cannot understand or relate to.
I am glad she is able to live her dream and was able to patch things up with her father. Not many get the chance to do so.

I'm currently reading Viola's Finding Me which is a powerfully touching and heartbreaking story of her traumatic childhood. Her MaMamma was a source of strength, and Cicely Tyson was her inspiration to find her voice as a brilliant actor in her own right. I'm about to read Chapter 7 The Sisterhood so more surprises are to come. I highly recommend her book.

I really want her to be the second Black Best Actress Oscar winner, even though the industry would rather joke about Black women than appreciate their talents and their harder work to deliver phenomenal performances.
