Bridge to terabithia. I thought she died in the middle though. and I thought she fell off a bridge. I havent seen it in a long time so.
I wont watch Marley and Me because the dog dies BUT I'd rather a dog die of old age then any other way ( starsky and hutch is one example )
I cant watching Hatchi but not bc the dog dies. its bc the dog lived without knowing his owner died
During of old age is one thing but. yeah animal cruelty hurts the most.
I loved requiem for some reason.
Iv only not seen marley and me, million dollar baby and atonement (if never even heard of the latter)
Oh and the boy in the plastic bubble (which I cant watch. its way to depression)

Not sure why Marley and Me is so far down. I've had to put 3 dogs to sleep out of 4 that have passed. (We always have 2 about the same age) Now at 31 I have two 14 year olds who I'm just hoping last until winter. Which makes me cry so often as I made a countdown and I'm not sure I can do it.
If I had seen the movie in theaters, I probably would've sobbed so hard I hyperventilated, especially as it was right around when two of my dogs had to be put to sleep. So I'm glad someone created doesthedogdye (fix the wording - one comment was already deleted) because it tells you if so and how. And I can handle a quick scene but not something as long as Marley and Me.

3: 44 this is to this day the only movie I have ever physically cried while watching the ending. It was definitely more impactful than I thought it would ever be because some years later we had to put down our dachshund odie, and when that realization hit me that I was going through that exact same thing there was nothing that couldve stopped me from crying. There are still a few songs that whenever I hear them I imagine hes right there next to me.

Love the video good List Number one The Boy in the Striped Pajamas always was a hard movie for me to watch take it very personally with being Jewish myself and had Kinships that was in the holocaust hearing stories of how horrific it was, but I would just like to know where the hell is Brokeback mountain? Now that is one of the other most saddest movie I have seen like it couldve been in at the top 3 at least

I remember watching the Boy in the Striped Pajameas in either 10th or 11th grade. I was gobsmacked by that ending and when it was over I was like Is That The End!
I just really couldnt believe that the two boys dying was the ending to that movie and thought that somehow things would be ok. But all these years later I believe I know why they did it.

I haven't seen many of the movies listed but early 2000s movies that I have seen and I think are extremely sad are A Walk To Remember, Bridge to Terebithia and Moulin Rouge. Though I totally agree that Boy In Striped In Pajamas is ridiculously heartbreaking even though I've never seen the whole movie. It's so horrible and terrible

Feel like Marley & Me should be higher up. I have to skip the ending and couldn't even rewatch the final moments in this video. Even if you never had to put your dog down, it takes you back to the final moments/memories you had with your pet or any loved one. Plus it's a movie that almost all ages get and have a mutual sadness for.

Hachi is one I just cried so much like Ive never cried in a movie before. The most Ive ever cried. Honestly, it just pierced my heart so much. I cant watch it again. And then seeing it on here, I tried to hold in my tears, but I began to sob again. I have two dogs of my own. I just treasure them more than anything

The Hours makes me cry in advance of the bad stuff, because I know how it all ends. The Hours and Life is Beautiful are two instant tear-jerkers.
Looked it up, Life is Beautiful is from 1997, not 2000s. Still, though, if youre looking to be utterly heart-broken, give it a watch.

As a disabled person, I dont agree with the crap movies like Million Dollar Baby gets. These people could walk and then became disabled. They dont feel they could ever be like they were. I completely understand this. Thank you for at least showing the disabled.

I watched Marley and Me when I was in 5th grade at a day care and I couldnt stop crying when I saw the ending. I knew number one would have to do something with the holocaust. But I didnt think it would be the boy in the striped pajamas would be number one

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas made me wrecked. I remember watching it in high school and our class was so shocked by the ending. I hate movies with endings like that but at the same time it was a valuable lesson as to just how cruel our world can be.

As sad as the ending of Marley and Me is, the ending of My Dog Skip is even better and more heartbreaking. And Million Dollar Babys ending should have been here in the first place, second place should have been for Brokeback Mountain.

It's amazing how just a clip of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas still feels like a traumatic blow to your soul years after watching it. This movie needed kleenex dispensers in the cinema.

Bridge to terabithia should have been number one in my opinion, the movie changed my life, and reminds me of an old friend of mine that was like my Lesley, but she died a long time ago

I hate to say it, but to some degree the ending to the live action Charlotte's Web film is even sadder the ending to the animated film even if the endings are pretty much the same.

I love Charlotte's Web the animated version over the live action movie! But no matter which version I see I bawl at the end when Charlotte dies after lying her eggs.

Just this clip of Hachi was more than enough to make me start crying again. I cant bring myself to watch the movie again. No movie has ever made me cry like that.

A movie ending that gets me is Life is Beautiful. It's one of my favorite fills. It's an Italian world war II movie. Oh my God it's heart breaking.

Oh no! Marley & Me BROKE me. My dog looked almost exactly like the last Marley, and he was very old, gone over the Rainbow Bridge in 2013.
