These kids movies have the most fire soundtracks. For this list, well be looking at the most unbelievably amazing bodies of music that made childrens films even more iconic. Our countdown includes Encanto, Shrek, Hercules, and more! Which kids movie soundtrack do YOU think is the most fire?
Date: 2023-11-20

Comments and reviews: 30

Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. The Lion King
2. Shrek
3. Sing
It was so diffcult for 2nd and 3rd spot, I had Shrek, Sing, Hercules and Toy Story. Hercules I couldn't see much catchy soundtracks compare to the others and Toy Story, even though the soundtracks are magnificent thanks to Randy Newman, but I don't think it's known for soundtracks for the movie. Shrek and Sing were even because for Shrek's Iconic originality and Story and for Sing's greatest soundtracks, mostly covers, so it's 50/50, but the reason why Shrek is just ahead of Sing was I remember there was a karaoke scene for the Shrek characters to sing along to. The Lion King smashed the top spot because I liked every soundtrack they had for the movie, however, if Frozen was on the list then this would've even tougher, which I'm surprised it wasn't on the list.

First off, I thought Frozen should have AT LEAST been an honorable mention. I mean man.
Second off, I really appreciated the Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella mention! Much better than Disney's by a longshot.
Third off, how dare you not bring up how fire Lion King 2's soundtrack. It never gets mentioned
Fourth and finally. YES PRINCE OF EGYPT AND LION KING WERE THE TOP TWOOOOO! I mean, we all knew Lion King would be up there (still mad Lion King 2 continues to never get mentioned, but I was totally expecting #1 to be some other Disney Renaissance movie (except Hunchback because THAT also never gets its love, but to have the perfect (with a small hiccup in Playing With The Big Boys) soundtrack of Prince of Egypt. Thank you lots!

Some of my takes:
- Prince of Egypt #1? YES! And thank you for not bringing up the inferior Mariah/Whitney vocal calisthenics version of When You Believe. The original movie version was by far superior.
- No Hunchback of Notre Dame? THAT movie has the only opening that can compete with Prince of Egypt! It's also one of the very, very few Disney soundtracks that I went out & bought immediately.
- Can You Feel the Love Tonight should NOT have won the Oscar. It's a pretty pedestrian love song. Circle of Life SHOULD have gotten it.
- Lion King 2: Simba's Pride is also missing. I'd put He Lives In You, One Of Us, and My Lullaby among the top of any list. The only clunker was Upendi, which was just silly.

I like all the kids movies or movie soundtrack or soundtracks has the most fire on the DVDs or on Hulu or on Netflix or on Disney Plus like Encanto and Sing and A Goofy Movie and Rodger's & Hammerstein's Cinderella and Hercules and Toy Story Franchise and Shrek and Tarzan and The Lion King and Chicken Little and Megamind and Happy Feet and Trolls and Despicable me Franchise and The Prince of Egypt
reply

Fine list but I would replace Prince of Egypt with Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron. The soundtrack of the latter movie isn't only fire but heart burster with joy and tears.
Even the lion king failed to make me cry as much as Spirit
Spirit's score is easily Hans Zimmer's best soundtrack in an animated movie
Also the Croods soundtrack is super underrated and should have been here

don't know if fire is the right word to describe here but a lot of these are underrated not so much fire in them so music probably not but 7 more whimsical lighthearted airy 5 just lame not so much music is in that more instrumental however for trolls you do get a catchy tune for timberlake it's so infectiously catchy to dance too and leaves a smile on works for me that way

The animated movie soundtrack that I listen to the most is the Cars soundtrack! Cars is my favorite Pixar franchise, and I love the charm that the first one has, even though it's my least favorite of the 3 movies. Some others I listen to when I'm bored are: Lion King (1 and 2, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Prince of Egypt, How To Train Your Dragon, Frozen (1 and 2, and Encanto.

I haven't even heard the 7th one (Cinderella) but I think there are more iconic songs on Disney movies that would make us all sing once we hear the intro. Nothing against the movie itself; I just thought that there are more movies who should take that spot as the 7th. Because the song is beautiful but I didn't even know it existed!

You people are crazy! What happened to beauty and the beast? What happened to little mermaid? not even ahonorable mention. Some of these I really think could have been replaced. And Encanto as a number 10 youre crazy. That at least deserved a number six.
reply

The only good thing to come out of Phil Collins' Tarzan soundtrack was Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld. Turning Red should be on here, if only for how much I inexplicably dig those 4Town songs, particularly the main two songs, which slap hard.
reply

I'm honestly surprised The Little Mermaid didn't even make honorable mentions. Kiss the Girl is one of my favorite Disney songs and Poor Unfortunate Souls is amazing as well. And let's not forget Under the Sea and Part of Your World.
reply

Not sold on Encanto. We Don't Talk About Bruno's popularity isn't surprising, due to it's similarity to Havana by Camila Cabello, but the entire soundtrack isn't great. Vivo had a better soundtrack as a whole.
reply

No offence to Cinderella, but having one live-action musical in a countdown full of animated ones feels a little strange. There are enough family-friendly live-action musicals to form a Top 10.
reply

What about another list of kids movie soundtracks? Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse should at least make it. Even The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run and The Star, should featured on it too.
reply

I learned to sing with these movie soundtracks. Now I am singing my own songs in my local scene and trying hard to release them on Spotify. Thank you, Disney, Dreamworks! I OWE YOU GUYS A LOT!
reply

Does the 1997 Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella count since it technically never had a soundtrack? They couldn't come to an agreement with Whitney's people so one was never made.
reply

Video was confused as to what it wanted to prioritize. I would've chosen soundtracks that were hits with Kids and kids sang along with. Not what the soundtrack does for the movie.
reply

I do have other piks and they Mona and Oliver and campany and Charlotte wed and thumdlina and Anastasia and the swan princess and tangled before ever after the series and Vivo
reply

Fun Fact: The actress who played Moses' mother in Prince of Egypt sang her lines in a whopping 17 other languages as well as English for the film's dubbing. Hot damn
reply

i would have put 'Encanto' much higher. A new score, written especially for the film, deserves more consideration than what are basically juke-box compilations.
reply

Pocahontas has also great songs, and very powerfull too - Colors of the wind, Savages, Behind the riverbend (not sure about the exact name of this song: )
reply

I actually performed rogers and Hammersteins Cinderella for my high schools musical my senior year. Met so many great people Im going to go cry
reply

If Sinbad had songs It would have been in this list but why Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron is not in the list too. It has egually good ost.
reply

Even though my favorite movie didn't make it, I'm SO glad that #1 wasn't what I thought and the actual pick didn't disappoint
reply

I hate how just because they're animated, they get categorized as kids movies they can be and are intended to be enjoyed by everyone
reply

Excuse me, but you forgot hunchback of Notre Dame, the soundtrack is fire! I love it. Also it chills my bones because it is so good.
reply

Why is no one talking about how How to Train Your Dragon wasn't on here, that soundtrack slaps way harder than Chicken Little.
reply

Prince of Egypt def one of the best. And I did NOT know Michelle Pfeiffer could throw down the vocals like that either.
