A lot of bad things happend to Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory. For this list, well be looking at the times the others pushed Sheldons buttons (deservingly or not) so much that we actually felt sorry for him. Our countdown includes his friends lawyering up, having his pants stolen, Penny not respecting his boundaries, and more! What do YOU think is the worst thing to happen to Sheldon?

I think a large part of the point in Sheldon's character is that just because you didn't mean to do harm doesn't mean you didn't or that you shouldn't apologize. Sheldon is often unaware of how his actions affect others and isn't good at navigating social interactions, which leaves him frequently hurting those around him and being wildly inconsiderate and arrogant. There are times when he does this intentionally, but when he doesn't he often (not always) apologizes. His friends do a human job of navigating this- they're usually pretty quick to forgive and tolerate his many fopauxs, but there are times when, for all the many times he's hurt them (whether or not he intended to) he deserves to get a taste of his own medicine, if only to provide balance in the relationships.

Everyone also complained about Sheldon and they all thought they were better than and above him but the things they all did and how they affected him in quite a number of ways compared to things that he did to them proves that they were all no better than him and in some ways worse.
If it weren't for Sheldon, there would be no show, Leonard would have died or gone to prison, Penny wouldn't have had her own place (mostly because of Leoanrd, Amy never would have found friends and married him etc.

As someone with special needs I feel like Sheldon made it harder for me. People assume I am like him now. So when he got what, I feel, he deserved was fine. He knew right from wrong and used his different abilities to his benefit without regarding anyone else and their feelings. I do my damnedest to not use my differences to make my life easier by abusing people as Sheldon did. I will give that Kripke and Leslie were mean, but they were nasty to everyone.

Honestly if you round up everything Sheldon suffered in the show, it isn't half as much as he deserved. He was always a huge jerk to everybody, who only thought only of himself and always put everyone down and thought that everyone only existed to make his life easy. Seriously, he may have been the protagonist of the show, but he was also the main villain, like Walter White in Breaking Bad!

Sheldon is a complicated character to sympathize with. On one hand, hes obviously obnoxious and rude, and any person with even the most patience would crack around him. On the other hand, since he can be oblivious to social cues or when hes the butt of a joke, you cant help but feel bad for him. Just because he can be annoying doesnt mean he deserves to be humiliated or mistreated

One of my favorite scenes is 8, it felt so amazing he finally gets slapped in the face with his own contract but then Amy comes along and telling him to play dirty.
Lastly all of these thing. To me, he deserves it. I know of his downsides as someone who also have a hard time noticing other people emotions as well but the way he treats his friends especially Leonard is insane.

I definitely was able to relate to Sheldon when the apartment was broken into. Having lived through that myself when I was just 11, its a scary experience. It makes you feel violated and unsafe in your own home. I did feel bad for him in that episode. Especially when he immediately got robbed in Boseman, poor guy couldn't catch a break.

The best part about a majority of these events that happen to Sheldon are completely karma (excluding the house break in and having his pants stolen. The evidence a majority of the time he his rude, selfish, condescending and narcissistic. He treats his horribly a majority of the time. So the gangs pranks him cause he deserves it.
reply

Gonna be honest Sheldon is a great character and he makes the Big Bang theory so great but got no sympathy for him. The way he arrogantly treats his friends and belittle them at times its only fair he gets some misfortune for doing so. Sheldon got what he deserved in all 10 of those scenarios. Most of them were his own doing anyway.
reply

What this video completely ignores is how terrible Sheldon treats those around him almost throughout the entire series. The way he treats Howard especially as an inferior person almost from the get-go means that he gets what he deserves in a majority of these situations and certainly doesn't necessitate having any pity for him.
reply

Sheldon may be overly honest, arrogant, immature and occasionally evil but hes remorseful, cute and speaks his mind. Some of the stuff happened to him was regular revenge and some that was actually uncalled for because the other people in the group especially Howard, Raj, Penny, and sometimes Amy can be just as bad.
reply

You forgot Howard's card trick. He kept correctly picking everyone's card. Even Penny figured out how he was doing it. Sheldon spent the episode trying to figure it out. At the end it was revealed that his friends were just playing with him. There was no trick. Everyone was saying that was the card they chose.

My mother often calls me Sheldon Cooper in a joking manner because I'm on the spectrum and I like things in a certain manner (ex. my library is alphabetised by last name, my CDs are organised by band name and alphabetized by album name, my DVDs are organised by genre, and I'm not a big fan of sudden change)
reply

I never felt sorry for Sheldon, no matter what happened to him. He was almost always putting Leonard down. He was always thinking he was better than anyone else. And he was always correcting everyone. He had to repeatedly talk about his eidetic memory. Again, I never felt sorry for Sheldon
reply

I dont like Sheldon, but everytime they made fun of him or did bad things to him even if he deserved it, I felt really bad for him. I relate to him a lot and I know how it feels to be bad. I know hes an ss sometimes but hes my most hated yet favourite character.
reply

Not gonna lie, all of the things on this list, dont feel sorry for Sheldon. Sheldon doesnt understand what he does or how he acts get on peoples nerves, but then when things annoy him its wrong. Double standard. Sheldon honestly deserves a lot of these things like this.
reply

Lennard is such a horrible character.
In the worst time of his best friend, its more importante for him to be egoistic, then to help Sheldon.
Also i think he is not funny and egoistic all the time.
I wish nobody has a friend like Lennard.

reply

Sheldon was a butt monkey and most of his misfortunes were self inflicted. It was hard to feel bad for him because he usually deserved what he got. Sheldon was comically arrogant and was usually paying for his arrogance when bad things happened to him.
reply

When it comes to Howard, Leonard, and Raj doing the mean things to Sheldon most of the time he had it coming. Especially from Howard for belittling him of his career and lack of a PHD and Leonard because of the irritation over the years.
reply

Not even once I felt sorry for sheldon in the entire 12 seasons of the show. Sheldon was so much annoying, abnoxious & rude that sometimes while watching the show I felt very much angry! At times when he got served I felt happy
reply

I have never felt bad for Sheldon. If anything, I've enjoyed it each time I saw thiose scenes. I have had annoying coworkers like that who are a pain in the ass. I won't feel bad for him even if he was captured by Jigsaw.
reply

I hope Barry was reprimanded for that prank on Sheldon. It seems like something that could look poorly on the university. Granted, I don't think Sheldon was right to threaten Kripke on NPR either, but that is another issue.
reply

Sheldon deserved each and every moment. At least the sitcom use karmic retribution in their story from time to time and to paraphrase what Lenard said in regards to slapping Sheldon: no one has earned it more than me
reply

I want to punch penny on number seven she was straight up a bully to sheldon. like whenver there is a sheldon vs penny situation I wish the writters actually let sheldon win, because penny is free loader scumbag.
reply

I actually feel bad often. I know what its like to understand people. YES HE WAS A JERK AND 90% of this he deserved. Penny is the one who does it right and Amy. They tell him what he does is wrong without malice.
reply

I don't feel sorry for Sheldon at all. I feel like he brought this on himself. Karma don't have no sympathy for no one. All this could have been prevent if he wasn't the way he is.
reply

The fact that the description says there including moments if he deserved it or not says that parts of this is him getting karma and the other he didnt do anything wrong to deserve that
reply

Even the worst thing someone's done to him is not nearly as bad as the stuff he reguarly does to others. This was really satisfying to watch. These are my top 10 moments on the BBT.
reply

The scene where Sheldon sees the video of him drunk made feel so bad for him. When I first saw that scene I just had the urge punch Leonard & Penny for doing that to him.
reply

No sympathy whatsoever. He was a jerk constantly to his friends and they deserved to pay him back from time to time. There's not list of Sheldon being an azz to his friends.
