There was nothing at all shocking for Black people about the villain reveal from Get Out. It was in plain sight from the first scene they appeared in. The movie was entertaining thrilling and scary in some parts but the villain reveal wasnt all that shocking. A dramatic reflection of cultural appropriation weve suffered through for generations.

Anyone who has read the comics/watched Batman The Animated Series/played any Batman game with Ras Al Ghul in it more than likely knew that the Ras that died at the start of the film wasnt the real one based on how many times hes DIED before only to come back via Lazarus Pit multiple timesalso, his name is pronounced REYSH Al Ghul

One that I would have included was the two moles reveal in the Departed because it not only reveals a villain that was right in front of our eyes the entire time but it also results in the murder of the film's hero Billy Costigan Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio)

I really loved how Gone Girl got us to like Amy by getting to know her through her diary entries. Then, once the twist happens, you realise that Amy hasn't just been playing the characters as fiddles, but the readers/viewers as well!

One of my favorite villain reveals is the one in Minority Report, and it was done by casting the right two actors, Colin Farrell and Max von Sydow. You're not quite sure who the bad guy is until one of them shoots the other one.

When you watch Get Out knowing the reveal, you notice more details, such as Rose wanting to get the cop away before he looks at Chris' ID, so that there won't be any record of him having been present when he seemingly vanishes.

My faves shocking revealson this list are from Saw, Get Out and Clue. The one that shocked me the most was from Saw! Im not a fan of bloody movies, but the Saw franchise is an exception! Loads of twists and turns!

The only flaw about Get Out was them thinking I was naive enough to believe Rose wasnt in on everything. I predicted she was a villain long before Chris found the photos of her with previous victims.
