Dear MsMojo
It is not often that I so MASSIVELY disagree with you. You have a track record of being spot on pretty regularly. But this. this is a travesty of injustice. To not even mention Spin Doctor's Two Princes on an appropriate list --- let alone not to make it the number one choice --- I have to say, I am sorely disappointed. As someone who watched Sesame street from the beginning (I'm 60+ years old). and then watched again with my kids. and their kids. I dare say that NO other performance in it's 50+ years was so delightful, fun, upbeat and meaningful.
You really dropped the ball on this one, and I'm being honestly open with my disappointment.

I don't watch Sesame Street anymore, but back when I did, my absolute favorite celebrity-filled song-and-dance number was A New Way To Walk, which was featured in Sesame Street Jam (1994; removed from the home video release) and Get Up & Dance (1996.
My favorite SS songs sung by celebrities were the original performance of Different People, Different Ways (Buffy St. Marie, the Alphabet song (Billy Joel's version) and I Wanna Take It Back (Telly and Dennis Quaid.
I think Billy Joel was the very Sesame Street celebrity I ever knew.

Never considered Me and Julio committed any crimes. It never crossed my mind that they were anything other than two kids the town just didn't like. Maybe they were from the wrong family, the wrong skin color, or just someone spread nasty rumors about them, maybe they were even gay back when it wasn't acceptable. but crime never.
Maybe I thought like this because I knew how easy it was to be treated so poorly for no actual reason.

Little Richard's version of Rubber Duckie is the song I remember the most, and the one I listened to most often. But, I'd have to give this one to Nasty Dan. (And no, I am not the same Dan) Johnny Cash is one of my favorite singers ever, and Oscar's reactions are hilarious. The only better Muppet interaction Cash had was on _The Muppet Show, _ when he sang Dirty Old Egg-Sucking Dog to Rowlf.

I know a lot of these songs because I have a 5-year-old who is super into music so Sesame Street is on heavy rotation in my house along with Ms. Rachel and The Wiggles. My personal favorite is The ABCs of Moving You by Usher, and also the numbers song with Pentatonix. Theres also a colors song with OK Go that I like and a version of the ABC song with Tilly and the Wall.

Wow could say no to this if they ask? Truly one of the best children's shows ever but what makes it the top is that it's older then me. I can do a pretty good Elmo voice and the first toy my kid latched on to was Elmo. He is a part of so great memories.

I'm shocked Tori Kelly's rendition of Try a Little Kindness didn't make the list because not only was the song itself very angelic, but it was so inspiring too, and acts as a great motivator for us to try and spread kindness everywhere we go!

One of my favorites that I'm surprised didn't even get an honorable mention was Aaron Neville joining Ernie in singing I Don't Want to Live on the Moon. Jimmy Buffett's duet of Caribbean Amphibian along with Kermit was pretty great, too.
reply

Another song that should of been mentioned was called Outdoors by Jason Mraz. It is a take on his song I'm Yours. Another honorable mention: Ed Sheeran singing about home and school titles Two Different Worlds.

NGL, I was kinda hoping that Patti LaBelle singing the alphabet song, Pentatonix singing their numbers song, & Bruno Mars singing Dont give up would make the list. But this is still a pretty good list
reply

They did nail the Kate Pearson muppet! Ray Charles also did a very powerful version of Being Green. When my son was young there was a cute version of Dont Know why Y Didnt Come.
