Sony has earned its place as an animaiton powerhouse. For this list, well be looking at the most memorable and visually impressive films released by Sony. Our countdown includes Goosebumps, Vivo, Arthur Christmas, and more! Whats YOUR favorite Sony Pictures animated feature?

Finally! People are recognizing how incredibly underrated Vivo is! As a theatre kid who's also a big fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda, I can confirm Sony really did so well on their first musical because when Lin is working on the music and lyrics, you KNOW it's going to be amazing, every song in the movie is awesome, and I couldn't stop myself from singing along, belting my heart out, and actually crying whenever I heard Lin or Gloria Estefan sing. (Also, Keep The Beat is the greatest song of all time, you can't change my mind)
(The lyrics to One More Song also made me a braver person and a bigger risk-taker, so I'm very grateful for that because the song makes me cry and feel so proud at the same time)
Yes, I know it's not a perfect movie because it does have its flaws, but I'm really glad they managed to take some of its bland moments and turn them into insanely catchy musical numbers, so that was the good part.
This is also one of my favorite movies because of how much it made me cry. There were moments when I just wanted to hug Vivo and tell him everything will be okay, even though I couldn't, and the message about loss really stood out to me because it shows us that even though someone we love is gone, we can't let our sadness get the better of us, or else that can lead to bad decisions. That message made me feel SEEN because I've been through a lot of losses before, and I am a very sensitive and emotional girl myself.
I feel like I took the morals of the movie by heart, and here's why I feel proud of myself for doing that. The morals made me open myself up about my negative feelings to the people I truly trust, and I became a happier girl after doing that even more. Plus, some of the lyrics inspired me to take more risks in my life, despite my fears. (For example, singing in front of others makes me nervous, but I go on anyway because the movie inspired me to, you know, sing louder than my fear, and I realized that fear leads to regrets, so even though there were moments when I was scared, I wanted to sing my heart out anyway because I wanted to make the right choice) Taking the movie's morals by heart made me a braver person, and doing that also led to more good things happening to me.
Vivo is also one of those movies that NEEDS to become a real Broadway musical right away because the music is AWESOME, WOW. (get it)
Also, if Broadway ever lets me do the stage musical adaptation of Vivo in the future, I'm totally writing the book and the additional lyrics for all the newer songs for the show to make the musical better because I want to do it and I couldn't resist doing it. (But I'm not so good at composing and playing music, but working with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the show would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity)
Being the new book writer and lyricist for the Vivo musical is going to be very epic for me, but the movie being adapted into a Broadway show will be even more epic.

There was no doubt that I knew that spider man across the spider verse would be number one on this list. I mean, come on, this is truly one of Sony animations greatest movies. It not only captures the spirit and love for Spider-man. but also for the spite of versus well with different spider people. But this also was the last ever Marvel film we would ever see Stan Lee make an appearance. So I feel like this is truly one of the greatest movies ever in spider man's history. also, it's a wonderful love letter to his comics to everybody but also a wonderful farewell and beautiful and sad farewell to the creator of some Marvel's greatest. Europe but also the one who gave us the friendly neighbourhood spider man as well, that is Stan Lee resting peace you legend Excelsior

So thrilled to see many of my favourites make it on this list: Vivo (I love its soundtrack, Hotel Transylvania (made me see that horror can be comedic and I really wanted to hear Adam Sandler, Arthur Christmas (a Christmas film thats both heartwarming and defied my very low expectations) and both Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movies (my son and I love them.

I was amazed of how good The Mitchells vs The Machines. The family, the comedy and the animation. Including that a actor from Gravity Falls and John Legend is in the movie. At first, I thought it was ridiculous that the villain, the phone, is voiced by Olivia Coleman but she gave a great performance. I find the movie so much fun to watch

I actually liked Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I even liked the main characters, Flint Lockwood, Sam Sparks, Earl Devereaux, Brent McHale, and Manny. But when I liked from both movies was Flints machine, the FLDSMDFR. It sure does make delicious food and now awesome foodimals, quite creative.

When it came out in 2019 (I was still young, I absolutely despised the plot of the Angry Birds Movie 2. The whole 3rd island and birds and pigs getting together thing absolutely disgusted me when I was younger. But I've come to just accept the plot of it because it was executed SO well.

I hate Spiderverse. Only Spiderman is Peter Parker, period. Action was over the top, and I hated the diversity politics in the movie
only Sony animated movies I like are
Cloudy With The Chance of Meatballs
and Hotel Transylvania trilogy

In my opinion, the best animated Sony movies are Hotel Transylvania, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and the Mitchells vs the Machines, even though I hate when the robots and small pathetic phone tried to get rid of humanity and take over earth.

My personal favorite is Surf's Up. It just speaks a lot to me as someone who grew up in California and spent a lot of time on the beach as a kid. Also doesn't hurt that it's got a unique narrative style and a banger of a soundtrack
reply

No. 1, hope the following sequels Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse will be a better Sinister Six set-up than what Sony has going right now so we can get those live-action incarnations into the MCU as well
reply

All hail Sony Animations Best Movie. It really stands out. I grew up watching Spider-Man movies and this, opened my eyes in amazement. I was over the moon it won an award for best animated movie. I even love the soundtrack
reply

I love Christmas movies and I enjoyed Arthur Christmas. I was beyond surprised that Bill Nighy from the Underworld franchise is in this movie. My favorite thing about the animated movie is the song by Justin Bieber
reply

The Angry Birds Movie 2 only gets a score of 9. 5 for me because 5 points are deducted because of the cringey parts. Like the Dab and Baby Shark. Without those parts, it would have been a perfect movie.
reply

Seriously its pretty obvious its spider verse because of all the comic book like animation and also so using old animation styles. Also the characters they clearly introduced us to so many spider people.
reply

I friggin' love Surf's Up. It was just such a curveball and it was great fun without doing the same uber-cartoony slapstick and overdone mile-a-minute pacing most animated movies fall into now.
reply

The top Best Sony Pictures Animated Movies that I recognize and enjoy watching are Hotel Transylvania, Surfs Up, Arthur Christmas, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Open Season and Peter Rabbit
reply

Also hotel Transylvania really got popular thanks to Genndy Tartakovsky the same one who did Dexters last samurai Jack and primal that Tartakovsky Because he is responsible for the animation
reply

How did I know Spiderverse would get #1. Biased crap. There are so many good animated Sony movies that didn't even make it here. And so many bad ones that did.
reply

I REALLY REALLY hope The Emoji Movie is not on this list (if it is, it should be a dishonorable mention! And I think #1 will be Spider Man Into the Spider-verse!
reply

13: 15 Why was Peter Rabbit on the Honorable Mentions list when the movie faced controversy for an allergy scene, disrepcting Beatrix Potter's legacy, etc?
reply

The Angry Birds Movie 2, Hotel Transylvania, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Open Season, Surf's Up, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs are my favorites.

reply

Did you know that in The Mitchells VS The Machines, Katie is part of the LGBTQ+ community? In the end, we would see that she had a girlfriend.
reply

Open Season should have been more than an honourable mention. My favourites are the Hotel Transylvania series, the vacation one is best!
