I have to admit, I do not see the appeal of Notting Hill. It was such a hit and considered a classic and yet I was severely disappointed when I finally watched it about a decade or so after the release. I just don't get it; it was a snooze fest for me.
And yet, The Holiday is still one of my faves, yet in general I'm not a fan of any of the 4 leads or Christmas themed movies. Go figure.

Crazy Rich Asians is the one Rom Com that can without fail always get me to cry. The Mahjong scene is absolutely brilliant and one of the deepest scenes I have ever seen in a movie. It is already great on its surface, but the symbolism of the game that they play is absolutely brilliant and understanding the game makes the power in Rachel's decision stand out even more.

Unpopular opinion: The love story in Crazy Rich Asians was the least interesting part of the movie. I think Rachels dynamic with Nicks family and the theme of classism was what made it so special. I found the actual romance itself to be dull and lacking. The film is still a masterpiece and was def Oscar snubbed.

This is a very good list - except for including Love Actually which actually is a very poor film. It spurred the creation of other ensemble rom-coms such as New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day, which also stink. A good rom-com requires one central story regarding two people. That's it.

If Hollywood tries to do a remake of The Princess Bride (or Ladyhawke, I swear to God Ill boycott them.

When I saw crazy rich Asians in the theatre back in 2018. I absolutely loved it! The story was amazing, the love was amazing and of course Awkwafina was INCREDIBLE!
