Since your thumbnail is Queen Elizabeth II, I didn't even have to watch to know that, as usual, this historical list has big inaccuracies. She was a figurehead only. A pretty tourist attraction and convenient distraction away from what the CONservatives did to the UK. She had influence, but no actual power to make war, policy, or any other decision affect people's day to day lives. One of the most powerful women in human history? Absolutely not.

Not surprised to see Catherine the Great at the top. I was surprised the Catherine D'Medici and Elizabeth I weren't on the list. I love seeing my fave history badass Hatshepsut at number 2. I was happy to see a well rounded list. Good job for not making the list completely Eurocentric.

Catherine the great has been my inspiration for years and I know that she wasn't on the list but Elizabeth the first because she defeated the Spanish Armada in a man dominated world as well being the first Tudor queen (Not counting her mom and 4 step-mothers)
reply

What happened to Queen Elizabeth the First? Defeating the Spanish Armada was not enough to impress? And everything else she did and over came? Boy, she is my favorite Queen of Great Britain! N

It was not Thutmoses III who tried to erase Hatshepsut as it Happed very late in his reign when his son Amenhotep II wanted to destroy any clain by Hatshepsut's family to the throne

I opend a pickle jar once when i was 5 and i also lefted a 35 kilo bag of dirt when i was 12. And i am a woman. I think i could have been at atleast top 3. Would yall not agree?
reply

I guess this list only contained women in power who have already deceased, otherwise I would question putting Margret Thatcher on but skipping Angela Merkel.
reply

Rey: I am the most powerful woman of the Galaxy!
Scarlet Witch: No, I am the most powerful of the Multiverse!
Cleopatra: Get out of here, you maniacs!

Umm, what about Elizabeth 1, hurrem sultan, kosem sultan, mirhimah sultan, or even any other members of the sultanate of women from the Ottoman empire

Indra Gandhi's bodyguards were Sihk and she had previously ordered an attack, on the holy site of their religion, the Golden Temple of Amritsar.
reply

These women proved that gender has nothing to do with being a ruler. But the world never sees kindly to women who sit at the pinnacle of power.
reply

I'm really surprised that Queen Elizabeth the first wasn't on this list. She ushered in a golden age for England through a bunch of turmoil.
reply

Margaret Thatcher puts in place unpopular tax. She is controversial.
Everything said about Maria Theresa. She is complicated.

reply

Queen Elizabeth II is someone we all saw rule in our lives, she should have been in top 5. She was 'The Queen' around the world.
reply

You forgot to include Toni Gonzaga of the PH. Her husband claimed that his wife is the most powerful celebrity. Check her out.

The euporeanization of Egyptian Pharaohs is a travesty and denies black Africans their rightful place in history.
reply

Isabelle wasn't kind to Jews. She should have left them alone too. Queen Esther should have been on the list.
