I've had the opportunity to see a lot of Broadway legends - Julie Andrews, Audra McDonald, Patti Lupone, Jennifer Holliday, Marin Mazzie - but no one will ever top Carol Channing. I've never seen such star-power. I was in the very last row of the very last balcony, and the very end of the row, and she played directly to me. Everyone in the theater had that experience. And her physical comedy was the only true show-stopper I've ever experienced. She literally had to hold until the audience could pull themselves together. And then her curtain speech! I'm so lucky to have seen such a star.

C'mon! Dame Julie Andrews definitely ranks above Barbra. she should absolutely be #1. playing Eliza, 8 shows a week for almost 3 1/2 years is no mean feat and then there is Victor/Victoria at 60, Camelot and The Boyfriend. No one like her. she is a Legend of Broadway.
