Actually, Jonathon Taylor Thomas left his role on Home Improvement to pursue a career on the big screen. This was a huge point of contention between him and his costars on the hit show, especially that of Tim Allen. Apparently, his success in his formative years had fed into an idea that he was talented enough, as well as liked enough by his fans, to succeed as a big time movie star. His first foray into this was I'll be Home for Christmas which was a box office disaster, and reality hit hard for Thomas when the reviews came in slamming his acting in it. Only then did he move to New York and focus on his academic career. These days, he takes on guest roles here and there on TV shows (like on Last Man Standing, but has yet to achieve the massive level of popularity he once had as a child star and teenage heartthrob.

All righty here. I was raising a teenager during the 80's-early 90s, and all I ever heard from here and her friends was NKOTB - NewKidsOnTheBlock. (that was as soon as she grew out of Kirk Cameron) It was imperative that each girl who came through our house pick someone from the group as their crush (and no stepping on toes, so some of that was fudged, because everybody wanted Joey - oh, except Tracy, who always wanted Donnie, and, to this day, though happily married, is still a bonafide fangirl. I'm not even certain who my daughter wanted, since it changed so often.

Demi Moore is great, but she was NEVER part of the Brat Pack a riff off of the Rat Pack from the 1950's. This was a really specific term for a bunch of adolescents who were involved in The Breakfast Club and a bunch of other John Hughes movies.
