As a frame of reference, I think I died around over 200 times playing Uncharted 4, but, because of how radically different of a game it is, each time had far less impact.
Each death in Resident Evil 7 felt so big and significant and scary, that it radically impacted my perception of my experience of the game, that I was shocked that it actually happened so little in the course of the -10 hours I played it.\r\n

Hey Pat. My Dad died really recently and I haven't had much money open to experience any of these games myself. But being able to watch these stories move and shape the world, with this video included, has been so amazing. Ultimately, even thought I wasn't able to place myself as the protagonists in these games, I am grateful for them. Thank you for this video, and to all of you at Polygon, not just Pat. This had helped me so much, as have all of the wonderful hope and a passion for games that I feel we all share

I knew I liked Pat for a reason. Just didn-t know what the reason was until he started talking about NieR and I smiled, remembering fondly the time I had with the game and the ending he was referring to. One of the greatest, if not THE greatest, moment I-ve ever experienced in a video game.

Fantastic video, Pat! All of you guys have been making some knock-out GOTY vids.
Also, this video resurfaced some extreme Automata feelings I haven't had to confront since I beat the game earlier this year. I think the imminent replay is upon me.

Destiny 2 easily makes my top 5 worst games of the year. Pat list off fun times with friends where as Destiny 2 cured all my friends addictions to Destiny in the first place. No one plans that damn microtransaction peddler game anymore.

As I will never die, this video wasn't for me, but I loved it anyway. Nier Automata deserves love for every piece of it, and I love seeing that someone in Polygon placed it at the top instead of the usual suspects of this year.
