You have to make sure your cellphone is off, so you dont miss any of that sweet Smashing Pumpkins or Red Hot Chili Peppers pumping through that brand-new CD thingy you just bought. Those CRT, TVs or. TV's as we used to call them were a whopping 27- back then, and there were no wifi controllers, so it was fine to sit on the floor for hours at a time. Make sure you have your Mission Impossible shirt, pour some Mountain Dew, crack open a bag of Doritos, and you are on your way. Come to think of it. not THAT much has changed. Except the amount of free time I have to play games. And -Set Adrift. - was way better in '91.

Mad props to BDG, he puts so much effort into his videos. I digitize VHSs for work, so if he actually recorded the pocket dimension sections with a VHS camera, then in order to be able to edit the video he'd have to digitize them in real time to get them off the tapes. So if he recorded 10+ hours of videos on VHS, then he'd have to wait 10+ hours to digitize the analog media.
So man willingly accepted this loss of time for the sake of authenticity, more that's dedication to the bit. b

i played crash bandicoot when i was 9 years old in 2012 on a small preganant tv in my room and i got to the lava level when my gran moved in and stole my tv (why didnt i play it in the lounge? i was too scared to) (why didnt i play it in my gran's room? she watched formula 1 on it all the time) and so my crash bandivoot days crashed there as i was only 12 years old and could not afford to purchase a tv.

I remember back in the 90's, because I was a teenager then, (don't tell me how long ago that was I'm at work in the lunch room) and really that looked like my room in 1996. Small 13 inch tube TV, PlayStation, and too many awful sour snacks that has detoured me from sweets through adulthood.
I don't know why Surge tasted like poison, but to me it tasted like possibilities.
And poison.

You fool you have now revealed the secrets of making a pocket dimension and thus weakened the dimensional barrier allowing others to do the same. You have doomed the universe for your own selfish reasons and now we can only hope that crash, the Guardian of our universe will protect us from the dangers to come! Anyways great video keep it up

Brian is definitely the type of guy to spend eight and a half years of his life learning quantum physics so we can create a time machine just to travel back in time to the 1990s to play a game he didn't get the chance to play as a kid

Most. Amazing. Sponsorship. Ever. The fact that BDG took worries that some may have about losing the magic of their nostalgia by playing Crash 4 and made it as literal as he could is just amazing!
reply

I mean, it's clear that Crash's being dubbed over by Patrick so his privacy can be preserved, but DAMN, that impression of Australian Crash 2's advertisement stand-in was just perfect!

I wasn't a 90's kid, but my parents were cool enough to just have the games to play while I was a baby, so I got some of that crash nostalgia when I was old enough.

He added Warheads (citric acid) to cereal (milk) which effectively gave it the taste of being instantly spoiled. Yeah, I imagine that that would taste pretty bad.
reply

Crash 4 compares to the original trilogy as my adulthood compares to my childhood: it's a lot more difficult and way more repetitive.

im the same age as him. and yet i grew up with all these things in my room, the rug the movie the games all of it lmao. i even owned an atari

BDG should make a vid that has something (anything) to do with swimming, and include the line -crash into the dive dimension-

reply

Theory: BDG actually didn't play any of the Crash games. It was all a hallucination brought on by eating 20 year old sour candies.

I was born to late, to a world that doesn't care.

reply

reply

this is honestly so sad, seeing a man spend so much effort just to go to a bygone era that he never experienced
reply

Get crash back, take away what makes him crash, unravel his inner bandicoot in a video about him. Also yes
reply

I come back to this series for comfort I guess. Although I just realized I don't see any Clearly Canadian.

the rapidly spinning zoom in at the very beginning gave me whiplash
JUST LIKE THE REST OF THIS VIDEO DID-

reply

as a 90s kid, watching this is looking into a mirror to the past. The only thing missing was Josta Cola.
reply

It makes me feel old that Brian said he's too young to have played Crash while growing up. and I'm only 27
