A senior at 8 years old I guess the large breed retrievers age faster than some others. I had a sweet retriever spaniel mix and she lived to 18 years old. She didn't show much aging until she was 15/16 and that was just some lighter fur. Her eyes and activity were still young up until then.
I love these dogs so much. Retrievers are always so loving and gentle

My lab was like Cheddar, he was my dog. and my Dad was Scrooge when it came to dogs, yet my dog, Bubba, loved him seemingly more than me. When I got married our apt. didn't accept dogs. Dad kept him and he became Bubbas best friend. Dad cried more when Bubba died than when we lost my Mom! .A Great Man and Dog combination.

This is such an amazing thing for this lady to have a wonderful gentle dog visiting her everyday bringing joy into her life. What a lovely dog. And what a lovely dog and what lovely owners to give cheddar an amazing rest of his live thank you for adopting this wonderful senior dog.

My sister has a nine month old labradoodle, and I see her every weekend. Every time I visit them the puppy goes insane with excitement. It’s almost as though I’ve developed a deeper bond with the puppy than her bond with her family.

I know this is an old one, but my money's on him thinking she's a human-shaped golden with that hair. I hope he had the most amazing rest of his time with you - dogs are angels, and their time here is limited sadly.

Cheddar, you are divine. I'm in my 50's and have never had a dog but recently looked after my neighbours 9 year old Cavoodle. Love, love, love. I want a senior dog.
