Half-Pound Kitten Takes Naps Under 130-Pound Dog Foster Diaries We have been dog owners of the Hovawart breed for over 30 years. Our current ones are 5 and 7 years old (45 and 48 kg) and males. There are also 2 cats. All animals that live in the vicinity of our dogs are automatically protected. It doesnt matter whether its a cat, rabbit, guinea pig or horse.
If someone acts aggressively towards one of these animals or, worse, becomes violent, this can have very unpleasant consequences for him. With proper upbringing, the Hovawart breed is very docile and waits for the decision of humans.

Norm is all this is my baby now. LOL It's not actually all THAT unusual for a dog and a cat to be this intimate of friends. My Saint Bernard's best friend ever forever was our cat. They were raised as puppy and kitten together so I'm pretty sure they didn't really realize their differences. Where the Saint went, the cat went, and vice versa. They were partners in crime until the Saint died (big dogs don't last as long as cats. After that, our cat was kind of lost and kept to himself.

I feel like fostering a kitten is counter productive and actually quite selfish People are more likely to adopt kitten than an adolescent or adult cat so leaving them at the shelter would actually increase thier odds of being adopted into a permanent home.
My citation is: As an adopted human I'm pulling rank.

I too have a huge blue pit. His name is Bait. My dad is a fisherman, and has always wanted three dogs, so he could name them Bait, Tackle, and Lure. Bait is about 150lbs at 18 months old, and our vet said he could top out between 200 and 220lbs.

What a wonderful dog. Big dogs love their kittens and vice versa - kittens feel safer with the big dog than the big house cat even though they eventually all get along great.

In my experience with my own 130 pound Corso, they are amazing with cats. My Cicero is best friends with my mom's cat. Anytime they're together they just snuggle together.

little sonic was looking for a friend and Norm being a gentle giant gave the kitten the attention the kitten desired and enjoyed the attention he recieved right back

Have you ever noticed that some cats have no concerns if they step upon you or not Don't ever step on them though, they will tell you about it immediately.

I don't like when two animals have a bond and then get split up but im sooo happy that he can see sonic all the time also sonic is my nik name

I can't help thinking of that old Warner Brothers cartoon where the big, burly bulldog named Mark Anthony falls in love with a kitten. Classic.

In my opinion, motherhood disregards gender. If you take in a creature, provide for, care, and nurture a creature, you're a mother.

Prison logic lol. befriend then biggest dude you can see. Now let's see those other cats try to mess with you again: D

I just lost my service dog of 11 years. Maternal is exactly what I use to tell people about my Great Dane angel.
reply

This reminds me of the classic Warner Bros cartoon with the big sheep dog that falls in love with the kitten

A male dog is paternal, not maternal. Paternal animals exist and it is a beautiful sight to see.

Norm is an amazing example of how strong are you Strong enough to be gentle. A great story.

Imagine this cat being bullied by another cat.
Then he just brings his friend: D

Pittie type dogs make the best Nannies when loved & treated with love & kindness.
reply

I don’t think he can act maternal. I’m pretty sure he’s acting paternal.
reply

I'm reminded of the Loony Toons giant bulldog with his tiny cat for this guy.
reply

I will never understand why grown cats are so vicious against kittens!
reply

They're like old friends who reincarnated and managed to find each other.
reply

I read somewhere that dogs have no idea just how big or small they really are.
reply

Norm's the kind of dog that if he walked into a bar everyone would yell Norm!
reply

If norm is a male dog then he isn't acting maternal, he's acting paternal.
reply

Is Norm a Cane Corso Looks like one. Cute and touching video. Thank you.
reply

Why dint you keep sonic That would be so Great for both of them!
reply

Imagine being a kid and you become best friends with a dinosaur lol
reply

Why do we say that loving boys are maternal’ Sonic is a loving Papa.
reply

must have been heartbreaking for Norm when Sonic had to go home.
reply

Shame your dog must miss him terribly i would have kept him.
reply

I believe the word you're looking for is paternal, not maternal.
reply

This reminds me of looney Tunes and I'm okay with that.
