Dog Loves Protecting Her Raccoon Sister - JUNE & WAFFLES Odd Couples Holy cow June shows how much she loves to eat. Shes Garfield sized. Might want to think about get a few new toys that encourage active play from time to time. As someone who lives with a dog and multiple cats its pretty easy to wind up buying a few new toys from time to time.
Hmm its been a little while since I last indulged getting a couple new toys for Bowie and the cats, I probably should think about get a couple new ones since theyre probably bored with their current ones.

I'd rather watch this than fake nws. Seems most domestic and some wild animals know how to behave and learn to live with each other. They don't complain or care about their outside appearances, rob banks, create wars, or push destructive agenda's. And for the most part spread love and desire normal attention. We could learn a lot about basic love and a relaxed environment from this.

having a racoon in your house measures your patience because they'll possibly destroy everything, on the other hand please don't try to convince me her mother abandoned her, i don't believe it, racoons are not like humans, if human can throw away their kids, if human can abort their fetus racoons are different they won't leave their babies unless if the mother is killed or trapped somewhere.
reply

95 times out of 100, the mother is nearby, waiting for the humans to leave so she can take her baby back to the nest and feed her. Unless you’re sure the mother is dead (you see her body) never rescue an animal, no matter how cute. Call the closest wildlife rescue group. There are always tens of thousands of dogs and cats needing homes. Adopt one or more of them.

Very cute, I wish I could have racoons, squirrels, possums and skunks as fur babies like adopting ones that can't be put back outside in their native habitat and have to be indoors or in a sanctuary but it's hard enough getting the cats, dogs, rabbits and birds to get along.
reply

Incredibly intelligent and great dexterity makes them a handful to deal with. Cute but they are wild animals. If possible they should be released back into the wild. Chances are they will hang around home for a while during the transition.

June looks like she ate too many waffles, . Gotta be careful, raccoons get overweight super easy because they are used to being very active, not hand fed everything. I hear making them forage for their food is really good.
reply

I think it helped that June and Waffles both smelled a bit like you and your husband, therefore they both accepted that they now are family. Both dogs and racoons are very social animals, which live in groups.

What a couple of cutie pies
Definitely an odd couple! But at the same timeA perfect pair!
Love watching them enjoy each other’s company!
Hope they are still buddies!

here in germany they shoot them. the babies starve to death.
they were imported for (ugly) fur farms and some escaped. now they multiply and humans first and only solution is applied.

I think we are moving into a different demension and animals are communicating deeper with humans. All animals. In time, we may have all animals and humans just get along.

I tried to send a raccoon baby to a rescue that I found on my front porch. Got threatened with fines and jail time. Cops around here are different.

Congratulations on realizing such a wonderful set-up. Raccoons are horrible pets for most people, but y’all make it work. Kudos.
reply

Raccoons are not pets! I cannot believe these people are keeping him in captivity. If I were her neighbour, I'd call the authorities.
reply

Raccoons don't have sweat glands that is why they need water and racoons minds develope up to a three years old child
reply

That is a HUGE raccon. I have 4 on my deck each night, cleaning up squirrel nut leftovers. and yours is DOUBLE their size!
reply

So you basically stole it from its mother because she didn’t come gather it in what you thought was a reasonable time

Multiple states make it illegal to care for or have a pet raccoon or skunk such as Wa. State in the U. S.

Thank you to all those who care for other animals in need. My heart swells and glows with every story.
reply

It would appear the raccoon is not going hungry.
This story is great. Animals need animal friends

The cries of a baby raccoon makes me want to go buy baby products for my non-existent baby raccoon.

Wow what a true bond! That is really wonderful to see! The experience must be really awesome
reply

Wow. Isn’t it AWESOME what familial love can overcome within our natural barriers.
reply

They are a happy family. So cute and funny together. I bless the one who took them in.
reply

This should teach to all of us can we can be friends even if we are different people
reply

I wonder why she didn't attempt to rear the raccoon so that it could return to the wild.
reply

What a wonderful unlikely animal couple! I just love seeing stories like this.
reply

The raccoons in my neighborhood are about half the size of that one
reply

Love this, except can't let one off with things and not the other.
