Having fostered a few pregnant ex-strays, I cannot express how rewarding it is to give them a safe place to see out their pregnancy and the birth. They're feeling so vulnerable so having a warm home, ready supply of food and clean water, their own bed/bench, and just someone around to affirm their safety is the best. I've even had one mama give birth next to my bed and with every pup she'd lick my hand for me to check them, as if she wanted me to confirm her babies were alright.

Why did you give Ginger's puppies, away How could you have the heart to take her babie's away from her She can't speak for herself and stop you from doing this. But, I can, you should have let her keep her babie's. It's cruel and unfair to Ginger! These are her babie's not yours! I am an animal's right advocate! So we can see how, if Ginger had been euthanized, all of those positive changes, in the lives of other animals in need, would not have happened.

Ginger is one special pup. I'm very grateful she and her babies were saved. I knew when she said she had promised her husband she'd find a home for Ginger that Ginger wasn't going anywhere (Yay. I love people who give so much to these pets who need them so much. Thank you, thank you.

When i was younger we simultaneously had a mother cat and dog. The dog had had a small litter, and I often noticed her letting the kittens nurse on her when the mother cat needed a break to go hunt or sleep. It seemed like such a beautiful and harmonious deal they had worked out

My two cats had kittens around the same time like days apart. They wanted to be in the same box with all the babies I lost track of who's baby was who's. So they shared babies until they were old enough to all get homes.

My girl dog let our new baby kittens nurse on her. She did not produce milk but they were latched on and it was adorable. She only stopped letting them when their teeth got a little too sharp.

I hope anyone on here who is talking about how sad it is to potentially put down a pregnant dog because of the puppies doesn’t support abortion. Otherwise you’d just be giant hypocrites.

They shouldn't be called shelters but death accommodation this doesn't happen in Britain I'm glad to say thankyou fir adopting ginger a truly beautiful dog wonderful mum and companion

many times when kittens are taken away from mom too early, or i personally think like people some just take longer, but the suckling is calming and comforting to them.
