This Dog Stops His Mom's Panic Attacks Soulmates ithis is my first comment regarding my lab and my anxiety. i got hime in january 2020 when she was just one month. i have already having anxiety and sepression, panic attacks for almost three years. so i was under therapy and medicine. i was bullied in school for being a shy and anri=bullying person. also when i was 16 a man tried tomake me his girlfrieend. but luckily ii said to my parents and i was rescued from a huge liar. also i heard he had several other girls and also what he truly loved was my parents wealth. so i got into a terrible situation i was in a girls school and never had male friends. so i was very carful and until today i havent had a boyfriend and ill suurely only marry via arranged marriage. so i got a bit out of topic. but at age 19 in 2020 i was going to do advanced level exam. but due to school bullying i had just stopped going to school as my best friend also went to another school due to passing very well in O/L. so my therapist recommended getting a labrador as emotional assistant dog. so i used to keep puppy beside me and started to study again and i was able to get a credit for computer science. also when i have panic attacks i would cuddle the dog and it would make me feel relaxed. so also as i was getting scared of bad dreams i took a sleeping pill. but after having dog now sometimes only i take it. also my therapist told me that ill be able to stop my medicine totally in few weeks. so also when i feel a rolercoaster of emeotions i would just run with her in yard. also i trained her to relax me when im about to faint. before i used to faint several times in a day. but now rarely in a month occsasionally only. also i am thinking of getting a rottweiler. i am currently doing charted it and hnd planning to do top-up next year. so the best remedy for me for panic attacks is my dog.

I too have a service dog. The one in the photo is my psychiatric and medical alert and response. She has brought me out of the house where I have anxiety attacks going out in public especially in large crowds due to my childhood. My house is my safe place. Because I’m different. I have undiagnosed autism and diagnosed ADHD. I don’t act like others. Also I suffer from stomach disorder so I always am fearful if I get sick in public. Will people laugh or push me out the door. She is trained to alert to my allergies also because I have contact dermatitis to body cleaning supplies. The public doesn’t use hypoallergenic soaps so I am training her to alert to a certain scent found in regular soap that isn’t in my hypoallergenic soaps.

Ugh anxiety is no joke, especially when it's that severe that you cannot go out, you cannot think straight, and you actually end up hurting yourself just trying to make the static stop, just desperate for relief. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder back in 2012, which brought with it a metric ton of anxiety. My boy is not a service dog, not a trained one anyway, but he always seems to know when I'm on the verge of a panic attack and he knows to get in my lap and protect my head from me punching myself or banging it against a wall. I wish I had had the forethought to train him to be a service dog, but he's 12 now so. maybe next time. x3

I lost my emotional support dog 5 months ago: ( he was ran over on purpose by a salty neighbor. Just having him aorund helped my anxiety. I had prolonged anxiety today for about 4 hrs i almoat aksed my husband to take me to the E. R. i felt short of breath all afternoon, sweating fast heartbeat. I started feeling lightheaded then asked my husband and his friend in thebmiddle. of dinner to pray for me. They did at that second and within 10 mins i felt great. Carlos. my dog would bow his head while my husband prayed for me other times. I miss his sweet face. :(

That’s awesome. We adopted a puppy from a shelter and trained her to be my Emotional Support Animal, and now she’s helpful when we have foster kids who are having a tough time. We also adopted a special needs puppy so Leia would have a sister, and Leia taught Zoey how to do some of the things that she does for me when I’m having trouble. So even though Zoey was gotten to be a pet, she has turned into an unofficial ESA. She’s one of the most loving animals I’ve ever met.

Love seeing these stories of successful commensal relationships between humans & animals! Would love to see funding & support for more such partnerships helping thpse with chronic health challenges. It's incredible what a difference it can make for so many! Are there are initiatives specifically focused on talking shelter/pound animals with potential and training them to become service animals.

This woman needs to be in a facility. This dog deserves a nurturing environment where he doesn't have to be part of someone's major issues. It's not fair to the animal. Get some professional medications and some real help. Leave this poor dog out of it! You're a really sick cruel selfish person!

I recently adopted a therapy dog named Olive she helps me keep calm when im upset frustrated or angry she sleeps with me at night so I won't have nightmares etc. I suffer from high functioning autism depression anxiety etc. I hate to admit that I suffer from mental health issues

See, my service dog does this for me. But everyone says Im able bodied’ so I shouldn’t have a service dog. But she helps me on a daily. Gives me a reason to get up in the morning. She is my whole world. I hate going anywhere without her. I just wish people understood.

They become an intricate part of our lives when you have health problems. Weather they be mental or physical. I don't know how I lived before my Service Dogs. But now I do. And its alot more because of him. I wish you both all the best stay safe. Lots of love.

Obvious credit to the dog but also GET THAT WOMAN AN ACTING JOB! Like that simulated attack was re-enacted perfectly. Like obviously she has experience having them which is unfortunate but the way she conveyed that kind of emotion out of nowhere like thats incredible.

That's wonderful and blessing to have this dog, Morgan! You two are good match! It is really important to help one another when really need help or support. Hope your panic attacks will wear out as you go along in the positive journey.

Dogs can be trusted with a lot of responsibility as this shows. Who knows where the future lies for canine helpers. They already assist mental disorder, police, fire brigade, Blindness and go to war.

Three families adopted a Belgian Melanois - blame the puppy for being high-strung, and gave it away People, honestly. In this case, the pup ended up exactly where he should have in the first place.

Super adorable Belgian Malinois! This is a great service dog and loyal companion. Very high energy and demanding but devoted to the right person who can appreciate the dog.
reply

If you're wondering what dog breed he is, I'm 98% sure he is a Belgian Malinoi Pit Bull mix.
And I'm about 2% sure he is just a Belgian Malinoi.

reply

So he was rejected by three families just because he was energetic, every puppy is energetic that's not an excuse. I happy he found a home.

I have a service dog that helps with anxiety and panic attacks too, and he helps! He stopped me from possibly getting a concussion once-
reply

What kind of people adopt that breed and expect for it not to be all hyped They don't need a dog. They need a statue.
