Guy On Road Trip Meets A Homeless Pit Bull Pittie Nation I did that once. I had an older dog, she tolerated most people, including me. She wasnt real social, but she was about 15 I guess. Anyway at the local shelter they had a female pit who I was told was going to be put down because shed been there for so long. Well because I was volunteering there and taking the dogs for walks, I got to know this one. Well when I found out what her future held for her, I decided that I was going to take her home even though I still had my other dog. (This one didnt like other females) so I asked my neighbor if theyd be willing to take her for a time until my dog would pass away. They had her for maybe a year before my dog was having end of life issues (incontinence. Finally I got my new girl. I suppose she was about 10 at that point. Had her for another 5 years before she started developing issues as well. The whole point of this is to say she DIDNT get put down and she had a good life with me for another 5 years.

I adopted a pit bull that had been confiscated with 5 other dogs and she was the last one not adopted. She was on trazadone and was tagged as high-risk and a victim of abuse. When I met her she rolled on her belly and would nudge my hand for more pets. I adopted her the next day and over time she has turned into a very loving and affectionate dog. She and my other pit got into a few kerfuffles but now they get along great. It really pays off to give the outlier dogs a chance. All they need is a break.

You asked yourself the, I mean THE, question that so many of us need to ask ourselves when it comes to helping a doggo. What is stopping me from doing this
In many cases you will answer yourself, Well, nothing really. Let's do this!
That will lead to one of the most rewarding experiences of your life!
I currently have 2 rescues that I adopted over the last year and my life is 100x better having them in it!

When the time comes and my pittie baby Mia crosses the rainbow bridge I will definitely consider fostering.
Unfortunately my Mia isn't dog friendly. I adopted her from a rescue organisation. She was used in dog fighting. I've been blessed with her for the past 6 years. She is 10 yrs old now.

So many beautiful pit bulls are killed in shelters without ever being given a chance. My favorite dogs are pit bulls and pittie mixes. My dog Boston is a wonderful pit mix that I rescued. love her so much.
Thank you for saving this beautiful dog

Dude. You are awesome. I own a pitty that I adopted from a rescue. great girl. she is awesome. Misunderstood breed. loyal and affectionate. you are awesome for what you did. I know it was years ago but just popped up on my phone. godspeed.

no one is putting anyone to sleep. no one is euthanizing anyone. they are killing healthy beings. you cannot rationalize that. use words that do not hide abhorrent actions of any kind. honor all life. or we remove the meaning of all life.
reply

Thank God you rescued this sweet, adorable, handsome boy! It makes me sick to think that he was so close to being euthanized. That would have been a catastrophe. Instead, he has a wonderful home and family! And you did that for him.
reply

your a blessing to them! I'm glad to hear your gonna save others and foster them! I also think we need strong public outcry to call for the end to kill shelters as they must come to an end across the united states!

Well why is it almost every time i watch this i cry, I'm a grown ass man but this shows the love we have for animals, whether they are ours or they need a home. Not just dogs but cats to my favorite animal.

Why, in this day and age, are shelters still euthanizing dogs that they, themselves, are saying are very very sweet! This should not be happening!
reply

These shelters are murderers, and are not in the best interest. dont take donations, tax money and tax free space to kill animals, bunch of creeps.

Having several bullies over the years, I can say without a doubt that's pure love in his eyes. He just wants be loved and give all his love.
reply

Pls America stop euthanizing dogs. In my country we have no street dogs and don’t euthanize any dog. In fact euthanizing would be a crime
