What these people did to this furbaby is inexcusable. Speaks volumes as to what kind of people they are. I firmly believe there is a special place in hell for anyone who abuses, neglects, rejects, starves, tortures, or abandons any animal. All they want is to be loved and love you unconditionally. And they do, no matter what. Rolo was meant to come into your life and you in his. He is a handsome boy!

I am going through this now with Frances. He was abandoned more than 3 years ago. He learned how to survive quickly and became feral. After 5 weeks of trying, I was able to trap him to get to the Vet. He has been neutered, vaccinated, deflead, checked over, and has any meds he needs. Which was no easy task for the Vet clinic, because he would hiss, bite and claw. He was terrified and sick and no longer trusted humans. Cant say that I blame him. Frances stays in our garage, even though I leave the door open for him to come in the house. He has a nice fluffy bed to sleep in, fresh water, food daily, and does get treats and nip (he loves it. He pretty much comes and goes as he pleases. He sleeps all day and goes cattin around at night. I leave the garage door open for him to come back in when he wants.
Frances still hasnt let me touch him. He has to know by now I mean him no harm. He does trust me somewhat because he doesnt run and hide when our paths cross (I make sure they do. He sits patiently while we have some meaningful conversations about safety and care. My hope is one day he will trust me completely and let me pet him and maybe brush and bathe him. I want Frances to know that he is deserving of love and affection, and I am willing to give it: )

I get stressed even if my kitten is out of my sight for even one minute. I'm constantly watching to make sure she is safe and comfortable. She has her own room set up with all things comfy and warm. I treat her just like my human babies making sure she is never hungry, never uncomfortable, etc. I warm up her food for her, I try to keep her entertained when she's awake, I move about the house quietly when she's asleep because I don't want to disturb her sleep, and so on. It's painful to watch someone pet their cat on the head and then abandon him knowing he's going to be cold, hungry, possibly endangered, etc. It even makes my stomach hurt when my kitten decides to curl up on the carpet for a nap when I'd rather she curl up on one of the soft blankets or pet beds that I lay around the house for her. Obviously she's fine, and she knows she has all kinds of options, but it just makes me feel better if I feel she is the most comfortable she can be. I can't imagine just leaving her like the cruel woman in this video. If she just can't take care of him any longer for whatever reason, at least she could have dropped him at as shelter instead of leaving him to fend for himself.

He is the biggest love bug and I just keep thinking that he would have been long dead like the other ferals in the neighborhood if he hadn't finally decided to trust me.

Everyone is really jumping to conclusions here. This looks like a feral alley cat. The previous tenants probably fed him as a stray, outdoor, feral cat and then moved and did not think they could catch him to take him or simply were not in a situation where it was feasible to take him. My elderly father just moved. He fed a few feral stray cats for years. In no way is taking them with him an option however bad he felt. This looks like that sort of situation.

If you have the heart to abandon a pet that has been part of your life just like that then you are simply a sociopath. There is no way a person with feelings and empathy wouldn't break with knowing a loving pet is out there alone wondering where you're at. I couldn't even imagine doing that to my cats or any of the pets I have had. The previous owner has no empathy, no heart. People like her is what is wrong with humanity.

Abandoning pets, especially dogs, is actually punished legally by authorities in Romania. This is not just morally wrong, it is also ilegal. Now I am not sure about the real life practice of this, of anybody actually gets any penalties or is ever caught.
What strikes me about people is - them doing bad or imoral things, and still considering themselves honest, good people, who deserve all the best.

Whenever I adopt a cat, I always tell them that I will be by their side forever and always take care of them. I really hate people who abandon animals in such a horrible manner. If something happens to your circumstances you are morally obligated to find a new, safe, loving home for that animal. Bless you, Maria for taking the time, energy, money and love to adopt Rolo. We get 2 or 3 cats dumped each year. Live rural area on a farm. I feed them & get them neutered eventually. Of course, they don't leave. It becomes expensive as no one wants cats in this area. Luckily, we have a 80 yr old vet that charges minimal fees. Otherwise, i I couldn't afford to provide for them as have my own pets to care for. Even cat food is getting expensive.

I have a feral cat adopt us, her name is Cairo, but soon after another Feral cat got the news and also adopted us. We can’t let them in as my own two cats despise them, and refuse to come home if they see them. We just feed them and play with them. Animals are a blessing! ( also and opposum came by) but that one can wonder around

To the people who are wondering, Rolo fought valiantly along with the good doctors and nurses who were taking extensive care of him during his last hours but unfortunately, he ultimately perished from accumulated fluid in his lungs. His last days were perhaps his finest under the loving and caring embrace of Maria and her family.

I swear I wanting to cry, how could these people be so heartless There's a special place in hell for these people. The new cat family is wonderful and they really are admirable people to take care of this cat. It's a being life, people should be sent to jail when they treat a living being like this, it's more than cruel it's evil.

Very kind of you to take care of the cat. Bless your heart. The only thing I don't understand is that you gave him the canned food in the can! I know it's a super minor thing but the edge of the can is pretty sharp. I see many people do this and I don't know why they don't put the food into a bowl or plate.

my neighbour in a pet free house, left their unsterilized female indoor cat behind. I saw her first as friendly and healthy, then two 3weeks later as skinny and nervous. Got her friendly and took her to the Cat Haven for rehoming. So, illegal pet, unsterilized and they dumped her.

I just watched a story about a cat that was taken on an Amtrak train then left abandoned. The cat just stayed on the train traveling cross country before someone found him and took him in. I was so heart broke by that story! Peoplr are so low down! I love cats. Their so precious!

I hope the person who abandoned the cat was reported to animal control because abandonment is a crime and unless she is educated or held accountable she will do it to more animals who may not have such a good outhcome.

I know someone who abandoned their cat in the desert. He was declawed. so he couldn't even defend himself. After she told me this I saw her in a whole new light. Disgusting!
