The fact that Toast is so instinctively tuned into the needs of another being, and her acting based on emotion without regard to the behavior or judgement of others does _not_ make her human-like.
Those are animal traits. They are the traits that humans admire and want to live by, but most of us can't.

I love how the kitten grows from 9am to 9pm on the SAME DAY yet you make it sound like you had it years in your garden less flat with your miserable looking dog that has to walk on that floor of sea pebbles! Yeah when you walk on a pebbled beach the first thing you do is get it plastered all over your house!
