It was 1980 when I visited a friend of mine who passed away in 2001. He took me to a friend’ of his who had two Dobermans. One was a Doberman German Shepherd mix. His face looked more German Shepherd while he had the body of a Doberman. His name was Leo. I don’t remember the other Doberman’s name. I was left alone with Leo and he was such a great dog. He did test me a couple times but we handled it and he became Velcro. I was outraged to learn that Randy’s friend’ would let kids tease Leo and his companion hoping to make them mean and mixing gunpowder in their food. I didn’t know who to report him to. When I complained about Leo and his companions bad treatment I was banned from ever visiting Leo again. Through all of that Leo never turned mean. In fact he was so protective of me that he wouldn’t let the other Doberman near me.
Dobermans are sweet dogs. It’s terrible how some treat them so bad.

I used to live in Fresno and they have a lot of abuse cases there. Plus in the summer it gets so hot it's just horrible conditions for any kind of animal. I'm so glad that you were able to get the sweet boy away from the owners. The proof shows that they did not care about that dog at all. That breaks my heart. But now he's eating all of his vegetables like a good boy and he's looking good. Thank you for saving Chucky

Chucky doesn't even look like a Doberman! He looks UNREAL! Thank God for someone to come along to help him! The owner or owners should be locked in a cage, themselves! Let them see how it feels! Would serve them right! Chucky can have a good loving home! We have to do more to get these JERKS Out Of Here and away from ANY ANIMAL!
reply

Are you Fkn kidding me And all you did was get the ABUSIVE NEGATIVE owners to surrender him That's all that SOBs of the owner got, just to surrender him What makes you think that is ok for this poor animal that was being STARVED to DEATH! GUARANTEED them SOBs will get another dog and REPEAT the SAME EXACT ABUSE to another animal!

The owners need to spend a year in that cage and see how they like it. They should spend that time behind bars somewhere at least. I'm so glad this beautiful boy now has a good home and good food. Justice for what he has been through needs to be served though. People think they can do things like this with no consequences

It appears that the rescuers are more focused on saving the fur babies by getting the low-life owners to surrender them, probably with the silent agreement that they won't turn them in. The owners may not have agreed to a surrender, otherwise. I could be wrong. Just happy the baby is out of that dump

He’s so precious! His previous owners should be ashamed of how they treated him! I assume they told them they wouldn’t press charges if they surrendered him that day. I mean you gotta do anything to get that dog like right now! He’s very sweet and happy now thank God!

How cruel and disgusting a person could be to leave that dog in a cage! They should be prosecuted and fined at the very least! I’m so happy you saved him, what a beautiful dog, and how generous he is to trust people again. You’ve gone above and beyond, amazing

Starvation is a slow, painful process. It was sickening to see this poor sweet soul so abused, and when they switched to the after part I choked up. He is BEAUTIFUL! Gods richest blessings to all involved in saving Chucky. Please keep us updated on him!

What is wrong with people I hope they went to jail or got a big huge fine! For a dog to look like that, he was definitely starved and deprived of water, it's so obvious. This just makes my blood boil. They will get their karma that's due to them.

OK well done I love all animals but have a special bond with fogs I love doberman but I'm not allowed to own 1 as my wife thinks they're evil but there the most loyal affectionate breed of large dog I salute you for helping him live his fullest life

Thank you so very much for saving Chucky! He is so precious and sweet. My husband and I would love to be doggie parents but we’re not allowed to have dogs where we are. We have rescued 4 cats who we adore. Every furry life is precious.

The 'group' of Dodo's rescuers seem to be worldwide and thank goodness for that. But what is happening to stop this Politically and socially In these countries where animals are less than nothing because the people are so poor themselves.
reply

I see so many stories about these 'victimized' fur babies but no follow up of the monsters that have abused them. Maybe, just maybe, if there were stiff penalties for the abuse these babies endure the monstrosity will stop.

My late dog, Skye. loved broccoli. I cooked her meals, usually beef or chicken with rice and veggies. She always ate her broc. first. I gave her steamed broc. for treats, and she thought it was the best thing on the planet.

Oh my goodness-what a beautiful Dober to be locked away with no food or water. I so love this breed for many reasons. Chucky reminds me of my late Ziggy, a blue Dober, in temperament and looks. Blessings to him going forward

Love has no words just happy feelings for this beautiful boy
The advert about vegan food for dogs is a terrible choice of advert it will not provide nutrients a dog requires or needs. You should not pro. ote this!

This dog’s resilience is amazing. He still trusts humans and has a sweet heart after suffering abuse. There’s no doubt he will be adopted by some loving humans. Thanks to the rescuers and fosters for saving him.

Why aren’t the owners arrested He looks so bad his ears are down when they should be up but his body ate the muscle. I would love to adopt because he is so cute/sweet but I have 2 dogs and my husband would kill me
reply

What's not to stop the people that did this wicked thing to this poor dog, to getting another dog and doing exactly the same thing They have to be prosecuted and banned from keeping animals forever.
