Too many people get a rabbit thinking how cute and loveable they are but not realize that like any pet require constant time, attention, care, and love. They will nibble on anything if you allow them to wander through your home so they require constant watching. Unfortunately, instead of taking them to a shelter some people will turn them loose in a park or near some woods or even off the side of a road, thinking that they'll be alright and be able to fend for themselves. But domesticated rabbits are not able to fend for themselves as a wild rabbit is able to. Also woods, forests and parks are not the best place for rabbits because some of their worst predators are owls, hawks, coyotes and other wild animals that live and hunt from there. My mom has adopted at two different times rabbits that people had abandoned at a forested nature preserve in our city. I even found two rabbits that someone had abandoned alongside a road that bordered on one side of that preserve. Unfortunately one had been hit by a car and died in my arms as I was carrying it to my car. The other one luckily found a new home with my mom's other rescues but I can only imagine what would have happened if I hadn't come across them on that road.

My next door neighbors did this. They had family visiting. The family was renting short term and could not have their rabbit in the apartment so they left him with my next door neighbors. While the neighbors are nice people, they know next to nothing about pets. This was a domesticated rabbit that the visitors had purchased. My neighbors, heaven only knows why, left the poor bunny outside overnight. They found it gone the next morning. We have coyotes and foxes in the area. I had a real difficult time asking them what kind of idiots were they to leave the poor thing outside on its own. Been over a year and I still think about that bunny.

And a cat and a rabbit do not form a natural bond or friendship you put them together you put that rabbit with that cat that rabbit had no choice put that rabbit with a cat and another rabbit and let’s see which one he bonds with

We have bunnies and they're great pets with diverse and oftentimes very colorful personalities, and just as deserving of love and respect as dogs and cats.

Damn! Homie is hella chill!
You could tell Bunny was someone's pet.
Thank you for putting on your cape and being Captain Save a Bunny!

Shame on the people who left the bunny to fend for itself.
Thank you to the family who rescued her and helped her find a home
