Hanna-Barbera made a whole bunch of Scooby clones through the 70s. All carried the same basic formulas. group of teenagers with some sort of sidekick character solving mysteries. Goober and the Ghost Chasers, Captain Caveman, JabberJaw, Josie and the Pussycats, Speed Buggy, The Funky Phantom, The New Schmoo all used the same Scooby Doo formula. This was not them trying to rip off their own creation over and over, it is what was popular at the time. In the dawn of TV in the late 50s funny animal characters were popular. In the 60s Superhero shows ruled. The 70s featured the said mystery shows, the early 80s showcased cute miniature characters living in colonies. Mid 80s was the era for 30 minute toy promotions, late 80s it was time for baby-fied versions of past characters. Pretty much cartoons chased their audiences interests.

5: 47 bet it was just a funny thing that they both had a bug movie idea, for me a bug life not remember ant something that much. And sad part that there bug life land in Disneyland is gone. My fav land in there for a while. But now it cars land witch oddly only at Disneyland.
