What These Harry Potter Gryffindor Characters Were Supposed To Look Like From The Book. J. K. Rowling packed the Harry Potter novels with fascinating characters. Not only was their selection of actors and actresses not infinite, they had to consider both physical and character traits in their decisions. The 2nd Dumbledore actor not being the best was NOT the actor's fault, it was entirely the director(I dont blame the writers either, the writers and actors reasoned with the director as best as they could) Dumbledore in the goblet of fire, the director refused to read the book and knew nothing about harry potter previously, the previous director convinced him to watch his film(the 3rd) and the cast and writers convinced him to give voldemort no nose and to shorten down his dragon vs harry scene(was supposed to stay inside the arena and he wanted it even longer than it ended up being, the dumbledore being harsh was NOT the actor's fault, that was completely the director.

And for harry potter I dont think they realized that they tried to do green contacts with harry(and because of this he had contacts for one scene; i believe the last scene of the first movie) but he was allergic to the contacts and on multiple occasions it brought him to practically crying and you can notice that in the scene where he was wearing the contacts

Ginnys character downgrade WAS NOT Bonnies fault! The directors took away her fiery personality. Not Bonnie. And all of the actors, even if their looks did not perfectly match the book description, portrayed their characters very well and I dont think I could recast any of them better.

daniel was allergic to the colored lenses
emma couldnt speak with the fake teeth
and lastly it was the directors fault, not bonnies. bonnie is an amazing actor that definitely couldve played book ginny if she was told to.
also, random fact: bonnies birthday is in 4 days!

In the movies they tried to give Hamimy buck teeth and in tha last scene in the first movie she did but everyone knew after the first days shooting that it wouldn't work for Emma so the dropped it but left the last scene in the movie where she has them the only scene she does

books: Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire, Harry? Dumbledore asked calmly.
Movies: HARRY POTTAH DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN DA GOBLET OF FIYYAAHH! shoves harry into table and shakes him
also it's not bonnie wright's fault that she was scripted that way

Its not the actors fault they didnt look right its the directors they should have put more makeup on to make them look better and they could have dyed some of their hair or directors fault that hey didnt say more about there characters personality to the actors
reply

I feel they could stop saying that the actors were wrong or looked way different and acting like it was the actors faults when costume is all costume designers and directors opinion on it so that was a bit. it felt weird to me

I meanwe can't blame Emma about her hair
After all she had a different life of the film industry and maybe she just didn't like her bushy hair as she grew
And Rupert probably just wanted to be more fit

I dont know how the whole casting actors thing works, but if its a movie based on a book or something, imagine being cast as someone who was described as something like obese or ugly.
