Is Harry Potter's Very Own Ginny Weasley Cursed? The Weasley Sister Had Bad Luck Throughout Her Years At Hogwarts. Hey Potterheads, this video is all about seeking justice for one of the most underrated characters in Harry Potter Ginny Weasley. Shes such a great character in J. K. Rowlings novels, but that doesnt necessarily cross over to the films. Its a classic books vs movies issue, and we feel sorry for Ginny that she doesnt get the praise she deserves. There are so many times we felt bad for her. First off, theres the Weasleys family dynamic. Being the youngest and only girl with six older brothers? Thats gotta be tough. And growing up at The Burrow wasnt a barrel of laughs for Ginny. Her brothers didnt let her play Quidditch with them. But she had a secret mission that she started when she was just six years old. And eventually she proved her prowess, getting a spot on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and making a career out of the sport playing for the Holyhead Harpies. Another reason we feel sorry for Ginny is because of her dreadful first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Being taken over by Tom Riddles diary and opening the Chamber of Secrets was a seriously traumatic experience for the young witch, and it stayed with her for years after. And lets not forget her love story with Harry. That was far from plain sailing. She had so many embarrassing moments when she was crushing on her brothers best friend. Surely that makes her one of the most relatable characters in the series? Her relationships with Dean Thomas and Michael Corner also provide great examples to the rest of us about not putting up with nonsense. While I applaud your frequent references to the books they are the original source, after all there are quite a few glaring inaccuracies, only some of which have been mentioned. When Harry is delivered to Grimmauld Place in Order of the Phoenix, all the children are kept out of the meeting including Fred and George. Ginny informs them all that Mrs W has put up an Imperturbable Charm so the extendable ears will not function. The six of them have a big talk in which they all bring Harry up to date on: why they couldn't keep him informed, snatches from meetings they managed to overhear with fred and George's extendable ears, Snape, Percy's defection and Fudge's campaign against Dumbledore and Harry, fueled by the Daily Prophet. Another annoying misrepresentation is Ginny and Harry's first kiss. IT happened right after the victorious Quidditch match which Harry missed due to being in detention with Snape following his duel with Draco. It was in Gryffindor Tower common-room in front of everyone and was initiated by Harry. Harry gaped as people began to scream at the sight of him; several hands pulled him into the room.
'We won! ' yelled Ron, bounding into sight and brandishing the silver Cup at Harry. 'We won! Four hundred and fifty to a hundred and forty! We won! '
Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her. (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, chapter 24.
Others have already pointed out your error in contending Ginny should have gone on the Horcrux mission with The Trio. Any book fan would know the reason for this. The danger of solely relying on film snippets is that they are sometimes distortions, and at other times pure invention. Please take care to always refer to the books as you did most of the time. All that said, you are right. Ginny's character got a rotten deal from the films.

I wish in the battle she had fought against the Werewolf that almost attacked her and eventually attacked her Brother bill. It would have been great to see her use her bat hex on him. I watched all 8 movies and you can cut out about 25- 30 minutes and put more screen time for her. They should have put the scene where her and harry walk together before snapes makes the speech, After winning the quidditch cup of her and harry kissing. I think they should have added her to the scene where harry say good bye to harmonie and ron before turning himself in to Voldermort. If I was going to go die I want to let the girl I love know how much i love her and give her one last kiss. But he just leave. I'm sure she would have probably gone with him, but that would have been the part that Ron steps in and use the spell Harmonie used on nerville in the first movie to freeze him, Ron could have used it on her. In 15-20 years when they remake them I hope they find a way to make her character important and not just a love interest of Harry. In the six book instead of harry asking the waitress out, it should have been a scene in which harry see Ginny seating on the other side of the cafeteria when he see Dumbledore outside, then he looks back it just another red hair girl that harry though it was Ginny but is not, then looks again and see Dumbledore staring at him. I didn't like that in one scene harry is asking the waitress out and then 5 minutes later he is happy to see Ginny in her bedroom.

Lots of people love love Ginny. And I do to! Shes such a fun character! But a lot of people are blaming the directors for her little screen time. But you shouldnt. If you have noticed, all characters in Harry Potter have their screen time, even if they arent one of the main cast. So it is a bit weird that Ginny doesnt have a lot of screen time like the others. But usually in movies, if that character is really busy outside of the movie too, they dont have as much screen time because they need to do the other things too. So dont blame the directors for Ginnys small screen time. Dont blame anyone! We all have our stuff to do. (Just wanted to point that out if you werent sure. Not trying to hate)

Harry didnt think to take her with them to hunt horcruxs
How she was left begin
Ginny couldnt go with the trio to hunt horcruxs because she was under age so she would of had the trace on her its not that harry, Ron and Hermione didnt want her there plus Harry didnt want to put her in danger

Ginny is my favorite character in the books, she reminds me so much of myself. Ginny was sadly not as good in the movies, I don't blame Bonnie Wright though, she did awsome, I blame the director and those who wrote the script.

Incorrect. Ginny was of supreme value to especially her mother. That is why she was protected whether she liked it or not. Also, she received ample, and possibly disproportionate attention in comparison to Ron.

Though she loved harry from beginning she didn't beg for it, she just increased her value by making harry impressed on her. In books it was harry who wanted to love ginny first, and it shows her value.

Ginny is a very powerful witch, and she's better than all her brothers, I think if her family let her be herself more than they've given, she would be one of most famous witches in history
