What Hunger Games Looks Like With CGI

The Hunger Games Would Not Have Been The Same Without All The VFX Even though The Hunger Games movies came out many years ago, we still cant get over just how great these movies are, and how well they hold up today! One of the things that impressed us the most is how The Hunger Games used CGI to create the dystopian world of Panem, and how we barely noticed that there was any animation at all! Even though The Hunger Games isnt usually lumped into the same category as effectsheavy movies like The Lion King, The Jungle Book, or Jurassic World, it actually had a ton of incredible effects hidden in plain sight. Take Jennifer Lawrences archery skills. While she did fifteen hours of intense training with an Olympic archer, they actually animated all of her arrows in the movie, for the safety of the cast and crew! Or the infamous fire dress that Cinna created for her first time on stage with Caesar, which was also animation because well, because lighting Jennifer Lawrence on fire sounds like a bad idea. The Capitol itself was almost entirely made up of CGI, and the Tracker Jackers, whose venom was later used to infect Josh Hutchersons Peeta were thankfully totally CGI as well. Even the mines in District Twelve that Liam Hemsworths character Gale started out working in were added in post, along with many of the other details from other Panem Districts. All of these effects and so many more added to the incredible visual language of The Hunger Games. Since the Mutt Dogs in the Hunger Games were CGI (of course, they OUGHT to have made them the way they were described in the books. with the eyes and coloration of each of the fallen tributes. THAT would have made it scary as all anything, just like the books. That was so disappointing to me, that they just went for Big Dogs, instead.

Hey I have a theory, what if The Northaldren Leader from frozen 2 was actually Elsas grandmother. Which would mean that the northaldren leader is Elsas moms mother. They both have white hair and are both very wise.
What do you think?

The best CGI is the one you do not notice during watching the movie. As we learn here, there were tons of that kind in the Hunger Games series, especially from the second movie forward.

NOOO the mutts are soo wrong in the movie they look like dogs in the books they are giant wolfs that can stand up on their hind legs and each of them looks like the other tributes that died

This is better than most of the hunger games content I see. I am a big fan of the series but don't always have time to look at the closest details in the books and movies so thankyou!

The dog Mutts in the first movie are really bad against the terrible and bloody werewolves they were supposed to be in the book. I red it at 16. I was terrified.

I love The Hunger Games, and I realistically know that a lot of CGI was used. But next time I watch the films, I'm going to forget everything you just told us!

1: 25 The flames in the 1st hunger game were CGI? Yeah lady, no shit. Im a graduated animator and I could have done better by myself.

I love editing photos so this is even more fascinating to watch. The process of realistic sgi is absolutely amazing!

this just proves how hard acting really is, they dont have the environment available to go act off of.
