Hey, TheThings fans! Welcome back to another video. Behind the scenes of the Harry Potter films was basically a prop wonderland. With magical trinkets like wands, timeturners, and flying cars laying around, its no surprise the HP cast has their fair share of stories involving swiping props from set. However, taking home a Harry Potter prop wasnt the easiest of tasks, not even for the chosen one or as the real world knows him, Daniel Radcliffe. Today, were taking you through each cast member's experience with their stealing shenanigans and letting you in on the secret of which props actually left the studio gates. While some actors were successful in their endeavor one of your favorite Weasleys even walked away with the flying car from Chamber of Secrets others were left embarrassed after getting caught before making a clean getaway. The Harry Potter filmmakers had strict rules when it came to the wardrobe and prop departments because the worth of the props were through the roof and were actually property of Warner Brothers. But that didnt stop the cast from trying and sometimes succeeding to the point of selling a prop for twentyfive thousand dollars! Theres no denying that the filmmakers had every right to want and control their props as much as possible, however hearing about these cast stories only adds to how unique the Harry Potter cast's time on set really was. Dude how much did Alan Rickman steal? Like goddamn. Lmao. He was also the only cast member who knew what would happen with his character in the later books/movies after asking J. K. Rowling about it while filming the first two films. He said he needed to know for his performance so that he could show little hints of Snapes true nature through different intricacies. (This is not the quote FYI)

Honestly every actor has taken props from set. One of my best friends has acted in many tv shows and she just shows me her entire prop case. The director of the show knew abt her taking the props but he didnt care that she did because almost everybody did it.

I'm surprised they didn't have a tighter fist on the time turner and the car; also really surprised only one person got away with a wand they shouldn't have but it was basically a bag of wands.

honestly, i think rupert might have straight up bought the anglia. he did say it was his favorite prop, and by that point, why wouldn't he just outright buy it?

Okay you got some people stealing wands or some- then ya got A MAN WHO MANAGED TO SNATCH AN ENTIRE CLOAK AND ALL THE GRINGGOT COINS AND A COUPLE LETTERS

i would have 100% taken a full quidditch set and broom it would just have been so cool to have it all

All the wands and any thing my character use that meant a lot also maybe a few letters or Brookes and my cloak
