Welcome to Uncharted a movie thats a visual feast for the eyes and not just because of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg being front and center. The CGI elevates this film to the next level as the team safely created the wild environments and situations they find themselves in.
Finding treasure has never felt so real Tom Holland had many practical sets to work on including a fullfledged ship decked out with green or blue whenever it was needed. What Holland was experiencing every day was pretty close to what his character was doing from spinning around wildly in the air and clinging to boxes for dear life! The sequence that saw Holland fly out the back of a plane, inspired by the original video game saw Holland pulling off some of the biggest and most impressive stunts hes ever done including ones that totally broke the actor!
How often were the crew actually filming in exotic locations? There were days spent on real boats on the water, as well as in giant studios filled with blue screens galore ready to be transformed into worlds we could only dream of. As acrobatic and skilled as these performers are, the highflying flips and stunts didnt happen totally naturally CG took care of hiding all the harnesses and wires that kept the performers safe while pushing themselves as far as they could! Mark Wahlberg was as close to flying high as he could get, sitting in pretty much the best substitute for an actual aircraft there could be on set.
The performances, the locations, the overall design they came together to make Uncharted a film not to be missed! Date: 2022-06-06
