15 Euphoria Scenes That Were Originally Much Darker

Is there ever an episode that doesnt have us in tears or terrified for a character at some point? Whats really wild is the fact that some of what we do see on screen in Euphoria is actually the toneddown version! With the cast and crew being so flexible and changing directions whenever it feels right, a lot of scenes or even plotlines were changed to be a bit less dark but that doesnt mean the show lost any intensity whatsoever thats for sure. Rue goes downhill fast in the second season and its a tough watch but fortunately, all hope isnt lost. While the plan was to watch Rue continue to spiral, Sam Levinson and Zendaya made it otherwise. One actor read the original script and found themselves in tears, really upset by the content and feeling nervous about filming the sequence. They didnt complain about it with Levinson but they did discuss it how did he deal with the situation? Sydney Sweeney, Minka Kelly, and Chloe Cherry have all been initially asked to show some more skin, but for one reason or another, the filming happened with clothing on not all the time of course though. Some characters werent even supposed to have much of a journey, with a terrible fate awaiting them far too early in their stories were talking about some major players in the show. How did they wind up staying alive on the show? Oh and remember that locker scene with a whole lot of explicit visuals? There were way more than we can even imagine in the first place but HBO spoke up and cut the footage a couple of times in fact. The show is intense as is, but knowing what we see is actually a bit toned down makes us see it in a different light!

The most frustrating plot hole that wasn't further explored in the second season was how Laurie was really planning to address the fact that Rue had either snorted or lost that entire suitcase she was fronted. Watching her get Rue into the bath with the syringe and the bottle in the foreground made us feel she was planning to keep her promise of getting her money back any way she could. There were real Gus-Fring-From-Breaking-Bad vibes with how calm she always remained even though we'd been told she was ruthless. It was a real letdown to not have anymore said on that plotline by the end of the season after Rue simply escaped the complex. Surely Season 3 will address this?

tbh i feel like this years the show lacked exactly what they removed from season 2, im not that disappointed just bc they gave us a season even through a pandemic but really season 2 is wack compared to the first, it just has a lot of drama and no plot. i KNEW kat's plot and the disc story were originally gonna be developed better, such a shame. you can tell even with filming, this year they couldn't even do very cinematic scenes, sam levinson is a genius but i feel like he got overwhelmed by how big the show is nowadays.

Not gonna lie this Sam dude has some interesting shit in his mind with all this nudity these are real people not everyone is comfortable with that it seems like too much in general also I wonder what wouldve happened if Nate died and fez dies in the beginning I wanna know the original plot cause that changes the whole show

Honestly I'm sad about what happened to Fez. I would've loved to see where his relationship with Lexi would've taken him. He was a good guy kinda put in a messed up situation at a young age but maybe Lexi could've inspired him to try something different, or at least challenge him in a different way.

Theres something I dont quite understand & I may have this entirely wrong. Rue. In S1 E1 Rue is telling about when she was born & she says her parents were watching the attacks on 9/11 on TV in the hospital suggesting she was born on or right after 9/11. If so then her age is completely off.

I think it's really interesting and amazing that the actors have that much power controlling the way the show goes script and plot wise. Even with makeup and costumes some cast members have had a say. The industry has changed, and that's a good thing. Actors aren't just puppets anymore.

some corrections: the argument between nate & cassie was scripted but they improvised what was said. the disagreement between barbie and sam happened at the very beginning of season one and has nothing to do with kats screen time. fez was supposed to die instead of ash.

This show is so geniu (shockingly its an Israeli adaptation. I must say the aesthetics and the filmography is remarkable! Im glad they didnt gave out about Nate character. Hes contributing so much to the plot.

Season one was way better, I was very disappointed with the second season. Lots of things are embellished and dont make sense, or they play it safe. The depth of the show wasnt the same.

Im glad to see these gorgeous, talented Woman standing her ground! That would take real balls seriously especially if the show propelled you to fame and a pay check
