To me, the biggest moment of, what I'll call -Magneto's Redemption- was when he discovered his grand-daughter was not a Mutant.

The Marvel zombie virus doesn-t only turn -supers- into zombies. A normal human could be infected with the virus it-s just more likely their brains would be eaten before they turned. Just the the -supers- could retain their intelligence, for comics reasons.

I don't think you missed anything, although I kinda liked the Amalgam version of Magneto, who created a team of Magnetic Men robots based on the Brotherhood of Mutants.
