It's a huge shame that Batgirl didn't make this list. Of the characters to be created for a non-comic book property that made the jump to comics Batgirl was the first. She was created specifically for the season 3 of Batman 66. It was only after the show that both Barbara Gordon and Batgirl found themselves in the pages of DC comics.

The Shadow/Lamont Cranston better be #1. that guy was a champ since pulp days(voice acted by Orson Welles in late 30s) and has an ongoing title current through Dynamite ent. Darkman is awesome, and is also because raimi couldn't get rights from Conde Nast to make a Shadow film.
