10 [EPIC] ancient and medieval fantasy massive battles movie scenes In The Battle Of The Five Armies, its kinda foolish for Elves and Dwarves to lose few of their soldiers over a pointless quarrel
Dain's goat cavalry could've been useful against the charging orcs and Thranduil's spearmen could've made an even better and taller shield wall to hold off their advance

The Battle of the Five armies has some of the worst possible decisions ever made by supposedly smart commanders. I will cite only one: The Dwarfs have a perfect line of spears and shields, a basically impenatabre wall of heavy infantry. What do the Elves do Shoot their arrows because that is what they are experts in doing No. they jump over the most perfect defense they had and go hand to hand, shiledless, having their own backs against the Dwarven spears. And one second later they all disappear so the Dwarfs can charge. I mean, what the heec. It is not the worse only because of The Battle of Winterfell

How could you miss out Braveheart The battle of Bannockburn is still one of the best battle scenes ever filmed. I would argue that the way it was filmed and presented paved the way for all others to follow and can take a small measure of credit for the glory of all the battles scenes you showed here.

The only downside is that some of these battles took up entire movies, or were too widespread to even be shown entirely in the movies, meaning there’s no way this video could have hoped to show it all unfolding. Still, good effort
reply

Idk why people are praising narnia so much lol they don’t hold a candle to LOTR but they are still some of the better fantasy movies we have. LOTR is just on a completely new level and will probably never be recreated again

the Crane Corps are questionable, but the rest of the Great Wall is impeccably well-designed.
When it comes to that first GoT battle however, whose bright idea was it to put all the artillery in the front

reply

The long night was absolutely terrible. How this managed to make the list instead of one of the decent GoT battles (Blackwater Bay, Castle Black, Battle of the Bastards, ) is beyond me.
reply

The first battle is the worst in film history in recent years. You would have to edit the recording and increase the brightness to see anything at all. A pure disaster!
reply

I always hated how the elves jumped over the dwarf spear wall in the Hobbit movie. It makes zero sense. Lord of the Rings generally made sense with tactics.
reply

But why was the siege equipment, entire cavalry, and entire army of unsullied outside the castle Honest question. Looking for a reasonable answer.
reply

The battle part with the Oliphaunts is one of the most well done realistic imo. Beside some exceptions, LOTR Battles are mostly one of the best.
reply

Game of thrones, the battle of black water bay sure is better than some of the others on the list I think. Especially better than the long night

I've never seen Noah, but what did they actually expect to happen when they charged at those stone dudes with literally nothing in their hands

q desgraca de filme e aquele q as mulheres pulam com umas lancas pra matar os bixos em baixo nao faz nem sentido kkkk porcaria de filme
reply

Sorry, the elves jumping over the dwarves was tactically the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Except for maybe the plunging spearwomen
reply

Love that you included the one in Winterfell even tho you can’t see it and completely left out the charge of the Rohirrim. smh
reply

I'm sure there was some awesome action going on in the first clip. I just couldn't see it because it was ridiculously dark.
reply

The Lord of The Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and Game of Thrones are some of the best fantasy works ever created.
reply

who ever taught that elves jumping infront of a phallanx shield wall is an awesome and smart idea is a fing dumbass xD
reply

Whoever made this video, it is my great displeasure to inform you that this is one of the worst rankings ever made.

Personally, I think the Narnia battle should be the number one massive epic fantasy battle of all time.
reply

I was hoping for at least one I haven't seen. Damn I love epic battles. I've watched all these multiple times.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The fight against the Telmarines after Peter and Miraz's duel.
reply

Narina battles are so underrated man. That theme playing makes me want to charge into battle atop a centagor.
reply

Yay! Three of the battles are Lord of the Rings battles. To me, that was the best movie ever made.
reply

GOT is a classic example of why you should hire historians who understand war to make war scenes.
reply

My favorite always gonna be the riders of Rohan marching in LOTR ROTK. when the King shout DEATH.

Say what you want about the Hobbit trilogy, but it certainly did provide an epic final war.
