we’re counting down our picks for the most shocking and downright controversial deaths in TV animation. Naturally, there will be spoilers. Our countdown includes moments from shows South Park, Star Wars Rebels, Family Guy and more! Which other unexpected cartoon deaths had you slack-jawed in numb disbelief I wonder if the King of the Hill reboot is going to kill off Dale, since Johnny Hardwick died last year. Man that's gonna be sad. I'm sure the writers will do it justice though, let Dale die while uncovering some grand government conspiracy give him one last victory lap of vindication.

They didn't bring Brian back due to fan backlash. The episode was already recorded and finished before his death aired. Seth already planned the sequences of him dying, the family replacing him, then him being brought back to life.

When I heard Darth Maul was coming back in the Clone Wars, I had a lot of doubt. But when I watched it, he had one of the best character arcs I’ve ever seen in an animated series. Shame he died too easily though

Obi Wan defeating Maul in 10 seconds was hands down one of the best lightsaber duels ever made. It's so emotional, makes me cry EVERYTIME. Gotta love how Maul's arc was done. I think it is far from being underwhelming

Can’t even make a Top 10, huh!
Let’s See;
- Optimus Prime(Transformers)
- Kid Flash(Young Justice)
- Batgirl(Batman: The Animated Series)
- Pops(Regular Show)
That should make it 10

south park may be trash to me, but removing the Chef character was ONE of thier biggest mistakes, and they have made many
So thats how Animaniacs ended Yeah, that is wrong when Velma still exist.

Are you sure that Maude’s death was controversial, as they made it clear in the episode, she was never really that important of a character, she was simply Ned’s wife who shared his beliefs.
reply

Duuuuude! WM doesn’t understand Kenobi. The duel was over before Kenobi reached for his saber. Elegant and sympathetic to end a rivalry such as those two had.

Seth McFarlane knows about not taking things for granted. He was supposed to be on one of the planes that struck the World Trade Center on 9/11.
reply

Why did they go to all of that trouble of killing off Brian, if they were only going to replace him, and then bring him back anyway
reply

I didn’t grow into this version of TMNT, but I remember the 2012 series really made kids cry when Master Splinter died.

Before even watching I'm 99% sure #1 is gonna be Brian Griffin. He's a pretentious douche bag, but we didn't want him to die.
