I want to apologize to the lord. I want to apologize for scoffing at his words. I was born with Cerebral Palsy. As a teenager, I wanted to star on a show on Nickelodeon to improve my social inclusion. My heart was so corrupted by my own greed and envy It never occurred to me that the people who made me laugh in my favorite TV shows were hiding their pain in their eyes, and the sadness behind their smiles. I want to recover from my trauma. These actors want to recover from their trauma too. I finally understand it. I finally understand that I’m graduating in my late 20’s because this is all part of God’s timing. God was keeping me safe from people like Brian Peck. Only God knows when I’ll be married, when I’ll have a great social life, and when my career will begin. I just have to keep trusting him.
My prayers go out to Drake Bell. Hearing him talking about these horrible things was never going to be easy. However, I hope what Drake did with his bravery can help other actors speak up about any personal misconduct. Drake Bell really did prove to me that when it comes to being a TV star, there is a sense of darkness, that even the bright lights of Hollywood can never hide.

No one should ever ever treat a child like you're not a person or a human being let alone an adult and in all adults environment and said how they were treated that way and just because they were kids and they thought they could do whatever they want to them and take advantage of them inside of some of them were either taken from their parents or their parents tried to use them for money I'm so sorry that they all went through this they did not ask to be in any of those situations especially at a young age but I'm glad that they're all doing better now as adults and being more open and honest people need to talk more about the child star experience being a child in Hollywood in the acting industry a lot more the reason why I'm making this comment is because most of the people on this list I grew up watching as a kid in the early 2000s so to me it felt like part of my childhood was a lie and it was a little disappointing to hear about this happening and I hope one day if I choose to be an actor I want to give them all a big hug and tell them how much I love them

I always feel bad for these child stars because they get abused a lot by the entertainment industry and it’s so sad. They don’t have a normal life to do things that kids do like play video games for example but with Jennette McCurdy, her story is pretty sad of what she went through because her mom forced her to do acting and she wanted to have a normal life, I’ve read her book narrated and her book is so amazing. It’s so emotional for me to read. I met her along time ago at capital records in Hollywood in 2011 they were doing a filming for the Food Network show cupcake wars to celebrate the release of her country music that she did when she was on Nashville and I was so lucky to see her there. I heard she spent three months in Nashville working on her record, but it’s so sad for what these child starts go through and they deserve a happy life.

I find it really hard to not understand Jennette McCurdy. After reading her book I can understand why she doesn’t see her self returning to acting. There was no safe place for her to be. Onset was a nightmare because of Dan Schneider and things were any easier back at home with her mom. However, what makes me the most upset was the show Sam and Cat. I don’t think I can ever get past the fact that Nickelodeon wouldn’t let Jeanette McCurdy have one day off and she had to turn down things that could help her career, but for Ariana Grande they had no problem with it whatsoever and attempted to work around it. For crying out loud there’s an entire episode where cat is stuck in a box

They're all complaining and blaming others but very few if them actually quit!
They were free to stop working when they turned 18. 15 if they went to the courts. They could have said no as a child too. Hollywood is a terrible place to be raised. I lived in California and had done some work on screen. I could see forst hand how toxic Hollywood was was children and even adults. To many people willing to sell their souls for money and fame with to many people promising them the world that couldn't deliver. If you're a Pred Hollywood is exactly where you want to be. Ptotect your children. Homeschool and teach your children morals.

It should be mandatory to have a court appointed money manager. Gary Coleman made $100k per episode on Different Strokes and died almost penniless. As for the Hannah Montana / Annie Leibovitz photo shoot it was all a scam. Look what they've done to our little Angel! What a joke. Photos like that aren't released to Vanity Fair without being scrutinized by her entire team. It wasn't paparazzi hiding a camera in her shower. They wanted a more grown up Smiley Virus and in return we got Twerking by a talent deprived hack. Brooke Shields and her mom. Brooke was just 15 when she did the Calvin Klein adds. That's borderline kiddie porn.

I understand that different people have different weaknesses, I've personally have my share of issues with various substances and other not too healthy behaviour, but I really have a hard time understanding people who say they have issues with marijuana. Does anyone here in the comment section can actually say they have experienced problems with marijuana that are comparable with alcoholism, opiate addiction, etc I don't see how it's possible, but I'm genuinely asking since, as I've said, we're all different.

In 2009 me and my wife had 3 kids and they were 8 5 and 3. Me and my wife were at a mall in the State of Maine. An actual talent thing was going on with Hollywood people there. Talent scouts approched us and without skipping a beat this lady pulls out a card and even before my wife could say anything I told the lady. No way you even talking to my kids for your child torture to make millions. Best choice to this day i find so dumbstruck at how parents can sacrifice their children to the industry.

I had no idea that all these stars had dark secrets. There are some stars I don't even know on this list. I saw that picture of the girl on a book cover in another video and had no idea what she was holding. I feel bad for all these stars. At least, some of them found help. By the way, I used to have a Hannah Montana poster when I was little. Also, I didn't know Miley Cyrus was her!
I wish all these stars didn't suffer any traumatic experiences. I wonder how the actress' mother died in number one.

Rebecca Rebecca Rebecca. why are you such a piece worth marveling at. like the Nebulae in a dark sky on such a peaceful serene night.
This piece catapulted so much of my childhood years, that questions about these kids' whereabouts in the industry were raised and here I am, receiving the answers from your tedious research and putting this video up. Thank You Rebecca

All of Hollywood is just a predatory industry. No one cares about the kids until/unless something comes of it. Usually, someone would say something, but we do not believe then until it is too late. No wonder so many kids come out of Hollywood so screwed up. I feel so bad that these people had to go through this. All for what Fame It isn't worth it, honestly
reply

It goes without saying that these former child actors didn't deserve to go through the traumatic experiences that they endured as kids.
And as adults they're all trying like hell to live their lives in spite of their past traumas while at the same time making sure that no one else ever goes through what they did again.

I can't imagine having to be so perfect at such a chaotic time in your life (Puberty-teenage-early adulthood years)
Mistakes are how you grow and figure out who you are. And to not only be unable to make them but to have them spewed all over the news when you do.
It's amazing so many even get out alive.

reply

Knowing what she had to go through, it makes it hard to want to go back to icarly.
Because not only has the first season feel like a time capsule of outdated trends and fashions from the late 2000s that has aged like a dead corpse, but it also ruins your view of the show.

reply

It really sucks that as kids these people were forced to keep quiet about the terrible things that happened to them. But now that they're all adults they are finally free to tell the world what not just certain people but all of Hollywood put them through.
reply

Yeah, I get it, I joined the Royal Marines at 16, served 24 years. Never ever have I felt anyone owes me anything or would I go this path, it’s called PERSONAL discipline!
And I am a lot less well off than these entitled brats!

reply

We've seen alot about Jeannette talking about the creator on this child star list, why not anyone that spoke about his behavior, Amanda Bynes, Jaime Lynn Spears, Alexa Nicolas, Miranda Cosgrove, Ariana Grande, etc
reply

I trained Demi Lovato at my gym for five months and afterwards kept in touch for several years; if I were to repeat some of the things she told me, you'd almost certainly think I was making it up
reply

I think I understand how Jennette McCurdy was able to play Sam Puckett so well. Her hatred towards her mom was the energy she needed to play Sam and her role as Sam was her best way to vent.
reply

Maybe you didn't boost your career on dancing w the stars bc your music is terrible so get a real job you could've done something you didn't have to just try to make music no one likes
