I Don't know what to Say. This Video While I take a Break through a Harrowing Day.
This TOTALLY PROVES I AM AN AUDIOPHILE!
How in the Fvck can Anybody make Any Misconceptions about Any of these Songs and Artists I Exclaim to Myself, and My Pup. I Kept Wondering What Else is On the List- You did Miss Many, But Your Program, You're Obliged.
I really Fell into Laughter when you say People Misconstrue RAM JAM and ZZ Top!
They sound NOTHING in Common!
Black Bette is My Baby Girl's Anthem!
She Died Christmas Morning 2022. She Wasn't but the Homliest Girl on the Block, but Her Eyes just showed You True Love and Pure Soul. She was just 4 Months of being 16.
She came Into My Life when she Was 4 Weeks Old. Yeah, we had a Life.
But she Left Me with Another Gift.
Sir Theodore J. Bear, Esq. 1
He's just a Year Younger than My Ugly Bette and Next Week He Will Be 16! I, Because Bette Kept Stealing Him through the Fence, i Fought for 9 Months to Make HIm Ours!
Oh, Bette was a Chihuahua/Dascheund and Teddy is a Chihuahua/Welsh Corgie.
Post Note: Bette LOVED to Dance! Esp. to Black Bette! Even after the Mishap when I Stuck Her Head Into the Ceiling Fan. Yeah, there are Times Being Well Over 6 Feet Tall can Make You Rethink What the Hell am I Doing!

People also think that the 90s rock cover of Cat's In The Cradle is by Guns N' Roses when it was actually Ugly Kid Joe. And yeah, Slade could easily be attributed as to why people think that Quiet Riot's cover of Cum On Feel The Noize is by Twisted Sister, because Dee Snider actually cited Slade as an influence when writing Twisted Sister's signature song We're Not Gonna Take It. And also, younger people in Britain would probably think that the 1969 cover of Etta James' I'd Rather Go Blind that charted in the Top 20 is by Fleetwood Mac when it was actually by Chicken Shack, all because Christine McVie (or Christine Perfect as she was known then) sang lead vocals on that track. And also some people would think that it's a Christine solo track because it was added to Christine's first solo album she did after she left Chicken Shack and before joining Fleetwood Mac.

Idk, I definitely can see how No Matter What could sound like a Beatles song. If it was sang by The Beatles. It's just that they have such awesome and unique voices and accents that it's hard not to immediately know when it's them vs not them. George Harrison may not be as easily identifiable as far as I'm concerned, but the three others are hard to miss. Paul's mellow voice with his way of elongating the vowels, John's voice with a bit of a nasal quality and extra air (and his awesome use of up front vocal overdubs. And Ringo's lower ranger, kind funny/child like imprecision along with his great thick accent. I love that band lol.

All the Young Dudes was written and produced by David Bowie but he gave it to the group Mott the Hoople, who recorded it in 1972. To further the confusion, Bowie performed the song on his Ziggy Stardust Tour, and a medley version appears on the album Ziggy Stardust The Motion Picture in 1983. Then Bowie performed the song on stage with Mott the Hoople, and that live version was released in 1998. So there are live versions with Bowie, but the original just sounds like Bowie.

I once saw the Styx song Mr. Roboto misattributed to Queen. Ever since, I've been trying to imagine what a Queen version of Mr. Roboto would sound like. And with today's AI technology, it's very much possible to bring Freddie Mercury back from the dead and even recreate the classic Queen harmonies. And even throw in the sound of Sir Brian May's Red Special guitar. I daresay that this version of the song would sound even better than the Styx original!

Wow; I don't get this list a all! I lived through his game of music, and beside 'On The Dark Side, ' I don't know how everyone with 2 brain cell couldn't tell these songs apart! To me; none of these songs sound anything like the bands or artist you say they got confused for. In fact; I know no one who ever did! I may be a 'Boomer, ' but if it means I'm not a total dumbass when it comes to music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, I'll happily take that

The Hollies ripped off CCR's Green River with that one.
Quiet Riot's version of Come on Feel the Noise has an introduction that is similar to We're Not Gonna Take it and the vocal style is similar, so I understand the confusion
These are all pretty understandable. For most of these, they are by a lesser-known band but they sound similar to a better-known band

Damn. I've lived through four of these decades, and am beyond disappointed by how little this site thinks we know about music. I'm so sorry I even pulled this up. I know who your target audience is now, mojofolk, and I am not part of it. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

I wasn't hearing the sounds like until the comparison between CCR and The Hollies. LOL. true, I still sometimes think that it's Donna Summer singing I Will Survive. I know it's not but at the beginning of the song that thought does always creep into my little brain.

Anybody ever think they just make shit up sometimes I've heard of 2 of these. A few were reasonable. I could believe some people may confuse the artists mentioned but I still had never heard anyone say that ever. The majority were just totally absurd

I was watching an episode of resident alien with the subtitles on and cats and the cradle came on. The subtitles said it was cat Stevens and I was super confused and shocked that I didn't know that. This video is so validating and I'm glad I questioned it

Napster/Limewire also ALWAYS mislabeled the Blue Monday cover by Orgy to Marilyn Manson. I don't think I ever once saw it with the correct artist back then. The fact that the singer sounds almost exactly like Manson in this song didn't help either.

How could anyone be so deaf to think Patty Smyth can sing like Pat Benetar, or Fogerty could sing nearly as well as Allan Clarke I do have to admit, though I thought Love Is Alive was a Frampton song for many years, instead of Gary Wright.

Honorable Mention:
Overlord - Lamb of God
-You'd think that this was a Tool song given the song sounds more like prog metal. That is until the bridge and breakdown, that's when the traditional Lamb of God sound comes into play.

You forgot Don't Pull Your Love Out of the Baby by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. It has been mistaken for an Elvis song. This may be partly due to song being written with Elvis in mind, though Elvis never actually covered it.

If somebody thinks stuck in the middle with you is sung by Bob Dylan, they're deaf. He sounds absolutely nothing like Dylan no matter what this song sounds like his voice sounds nothing like Dylan, thank God

I learned from this video that I Swear was not Boyz-2-Men.
It also took me way too long to realize Walk of Life by Dire Straits was not Bruce Springsteen and Magic by Pilot was not Electric Light Orchestra.
