Being a two hit wonder was very common in the sixties and seventies, often because of the cut throat music business, in those days. You could be dropped by management and record labels, as they felt and paid so little, that many successful acts from those decades, who carried on their careers, made more money later.

Psy isn’t some two hit wonder. He has been big in Korea since the early 2000s and just few songs happened to go viral internationally. He still sells out stadiums and headlines festivals
