I feel like dating younger is seen as glamorous and reflects positively on the older person, so I don’t see this kind of stuff going away. At worst, it still ends up on the exciting/funny/steamy end of publicity. I had a front row seat for a marriage that was hurt by its age gap; I hated seeing what it did to my mom. So, even if a gap isn’t a crime, I always have a low opinion on such relationships (I don’t say anything though.

It's not just scandalous, mind you, it's also illegal. The age of adulthood is 18 in the United States. Therefore, the age of consent must also be 18. Which means that dating a 17 year old or anyone younger than that is illegal and will land you a spot in federal prison. These celebrities have committed a serious crime by engaging in pedophilic activities by choosing to date minors. I feel like you need to understand that.

All 40 people on this list should be or should have been in jail tbh. Age gaps are weird. Actually, there's a 41st and a 42nd person. My cousin Heidi married a man like 30 years older than her, and to make it worse, HE KNEW HER SINCE SHE WAS 10! Also, for some reason I will quite literally never understand, my uncle and aunt are ok with it! it makes me want to throw up every time I think about it
