10. I'm not entirely sure how or why this happened. But the film somehow manages to rip the source material of the identity it DID have. Resulting in something that felt as generic, derivative, and by-the-numbers as it gets.
9. Despite having some big names like Jeremy Irons (yes, THAT Jeremy Irons, all of the actors are just not even trying! Either overacting or underacting with almost no in-between. WHAT HAPPENED!
Thank god we got an actual GOOD DnD movie in 2023 with Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
6. That aside, there's also Peter's portrayal. He's just too nice. Really think back about other depictions, who is Peter Pan He's a dick, he's a brat, he's a cocky smartass that literally won't grow up. He gets a thrill out of killing people. In Once Upon A Time, they actually depict him as a psychopath. There is LITERALLY a syndrome named after him!
But then there's the native's depiction. They aren't Native American. Here, they're all races. I think the reason why is because they wanted to avoid the controversy the story has caused with various depictions. But that just created an entirely new problem. Because the way they went about it is like replacing the black people from Song of the South with ALL OTHER RACES and the black people never get a line. When you try and overcorrect, you may have done more harm than good.
5. The studio just had no respect for Akira Toriyama's ideas or involvement. Often ignoring all of his input and it shows. Even Goku's actor in the movie openly apologized after Toriyama passed away earlier this year. Even HE knows the shame he brought upon the franchise.
3. The Netflix adaptation fared better. but still paled in comparison to the animated series.
2. There's a reason why this was number one on Watchmojo's Top 10 Worst Christmas Movies list. The effects are scary, the changes to the source material (such as Nazi rats) come off as taste-deaf, none of the actors sound like they're even sort of trying, and it 100% ignores everything the Nutcracker or even Christmas stands for. It EARNED it's Rotten Tomatoes score of 0%. But the real sad part is that Andrei Konchalovshy (The Director of critically acclaimed films such as The Steamroller and The Violin and Tango & Cash, of all people, directed this movie. WHAT HAPPENED!
This film just didn't understand the assignment. Shock value is fine if the purpose outweighs the offense. But it takes a lot of skill and a lot of heart to pull it off right. When you focus too much on the negative without exploring or understanding it, you get something that not only makes people feel dumber, but also kinda dirty. The intent to bring something positive gets lost in the need to make yourself feel important. But the same can also be said about being too positive, that can come across as mockingly condescending. Somewhere in the middle, there's a balance that's hard to maintain but can still be accomplished. That's why other dark children's films like The Secret of NIMH, The Dark Crystal, and Coraline are still looked on fondly even to this day.

Firstly, Eragon. I read the books as a teenager, and continued to read them well into my 20’s as they were released, and I’d had high expectations for the movie. They had the bare minimum of the plot in the movie (literally just the plot points, and the script had cut out so much from the original book that the only reason I knew it was the same story was the names of the characters. And the Urgals were severely disappointing, as they were literally men with smudged makeup. Although, I will say that the acting was good, the OST is always worth a listen, and baby Saphira is adorable!
Second, Artemis Fowl. I have a special place in my heart for this book series (my mom was in Ireland a couple times during my childhood, got me some of the books over there before they were released in the USA, and I found out that my grandfather’s cousin’s wife was in a book club with Eoin Colfer, and I was seriously disappointed at how the adaptation was handled. The fact that they tried to combine the first and second books into one film was ridiculous. Also, Artemis doesn’t surf (or do any sports, and he’s an antihero who has no affection for the fairies until later in the series. Plus Josh Gad as Mulch Seriously! He’s a good actor, but he’s not a good choice for Mulch! I did like Helen Mirren as Root, but that was really the only positive.
As for the third installment of Fantastic Beasts I have no words. Of the three Fantastic Beasts movies, it was probably my least favorite, and definitely the worst.

I find the lack of comments disturbing.
I knew Avatar was going to be a flop as soon as I heard that they were going to smush the entire first season into a single movie. I knew this before I heard Shamalan was going to direct it. Take a popular tv series with 26 episodes per season. Now try to condense all of that into a single movie. You would need to cut SO many things out that what was left would have none of the magic that the fans want to see that made the series so great. The breakneck pacing with no time to breathe or digest also turns off casual viewers who just want a fun movie. They might have been able to do it right is they would have done two movies per season, but whatever.

Eragon. I can understand how the fans at the time felt about the movie, when I started reading the book back in middle school. They missed/cut out lots of the plot from it. Though it is bad, I find it to be one of my comfort movies and somewhat enjoy it. I'm actually reading the whole series now and currently halfway finished with Inheritance (reading it for the first time. Hopefully Disney would make a better version of the books since their doing a reboot of the whole series.

#4 is not one of the worst fantasy films ever. It is pure eye candy and visualizes the closest approximation of Egyptian Mythology that we have ever seen in live action.
.
The effects are fine, and fit well with the stylized visuals of the film.
.
There are many, many more worse fantasy films than this one.
.
The effects are much better than most of the later MCU films.

Fukk off, jack Frost is a classic! Probably one of my all time favorites from my youth. And I've always felt like troll 2 was purposely bad, and therefore it's become a classic in it's own way. Take out troll 2 and put battlefield earth as number 1 instead. It wasn't laughably bad, just really bad.

Live action remakes of Dragon Ball and Avatar: the Last Airbender, I still can't believe their still making live action remakes of Avatar with their Netflix version. I can not even believe that there are people who actually like the live action version of One Piece.

Ugh, yet ANOTHER site that mistakes The Mummy (2017) as having anything to do with the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies, when it does not. It was an attempted reboot of the Boris Karloff story from 1932.

Fans of the _Avatar: The Last Airbender_ show from the 2000s and non-fans alike would be wise not to forgive M. Night Shyamalan for the 2010 film.
