This is all great advice, especially using conditioner or leave-in conditioner, which is different than a conditioner you wash out. Don't use regular conditioner like you would a leave-in conditioner. Also, I find that getting a few hours of sunlight on my head every day takes care of the problem almost on its own. Sunlight kills the common fungus that helps create dandruff. I believe this fungus uses the oils on your head to survive and excretes an acidic substance that hurts your scalp. Its that combination of acidity and dryness that makes things so hard for your scalp.

I wish getting rid of dandruff was as simple as just buying head and shoulders. I tried many shampoos and none of them worked, I went to a dermatologist and he recommended me some other shampoo that didn't work, I then went to another dermatologist who offered me another shampoo that didn't work. They both told me I don't have scalp psoriasis. I tried coconut oil and it didn't work, it just made my flakes bigger.
Dermatologists really suck at their jobs.

This is the first video that popped out. I've tried everything, from expensive organic shampoo to no poo movement and home remedies. I'm still anti shampoo, but your recommendation of using conditioner and a hair mask really saved my scalp. After just two uses, my dandruff is gone and it's sooooo relieving not having to scratch my head every two seconds and being able to wear dark tshirts. This has totally changed my life. THANK YOU!

Shampoo less and invest in a shampoo brush, that removes all the flakes on your scalp, and help cleans your scalp, it also has health benefits such as stimulating blood flow to the head, increasing hair grown and decreasing hair loss. I recommend Pete and Pedros shampoo brush, as it-s made of silicone and high quality, but any silicone shampoo brush will work.

I watched a video by Dr. Sandra Lee and she says that dandruff is actually caused by the oils in your skin, so it should be washed more often. However the apple cider vinegar mixed with water is very helpful in a sense to kill the fungus that causes dandruff. I have yet to personally try it. Thanks for all the tips! (:

Fungus - dandruff feeds itself with the natural oil from your hair. Letting your hair unwashed you increase the chances of having dandruff. Best option is to go to your local pharmacy and ask for an advise. There are specific shampoos that wear off the dandruff. Like this so people can get informed.

What if you use to take a shower at least three times per day, do that means you should use the shampoo on all of those showers? (during the days you use the dandruff shampoo)

if dandruff is a fungus that feeds off the oils on skin and scalp, you need to strip the oils to starve the fungus. is there any science behind half these videos?
